gold package J30T?

I'm asking this question because in all my travelling through Canada and the U.S. I have never seen another J30T like mine.

For a number of years I have owned a black on black '93.5 Infiniti J30T. It comes with a gold package, which includes 24K gold plated grill, door handles, vehicle badging, gold plated factory rims(badging and wires) and tasteful gold plated interior accents.

Does anybody know of the history of this package, how many others are out there, etc????

I'd think it may be a "dealer option" or aftermarket plating. How's the gold holding up? There are several things commonly done at the dealer after delivery. My "Q2" had chromed wheels when the former owner purchased it - but they were done by the dealer.

The gold on the grille, the badging and on the wire rims are holding up well. The gold clock in the interior is pristine, with its gold plated hands a numerical markers. The only place where a touch-up is required is on the door handles where the plating is beginning to fade.

Gold appliqué on my handles mostly gone (thank god).

Saw a LS400 with a gold grill the other day. It was ghastly.

Yeah....... I saw a blue 94-96 Q with the gold grille, and I about yorked.......

I think it looks a little better on the J, but im still not a fan of the gold package........
