Gold Nugget J30t

I recieved a couple of nice compliments on my car recently. The first one was by a cop (me and the cops these days :rolleyes ) who pulled me over because my registration tag was expired. I always forget about that detail because where I hail from in Canada you get your sticker when you renew your insurance. Good idea, IMHO, because then you know exactly who is not insured. Uninsured motorists in Manitoba is not any sort of a problem. No insurance, no tag but I digress.

As the cop is taking my papers he says, "I'm sure that with a nice new car like, this everything is in order so I won't hold your licence." He still gave me a ticket but at least I got a compliment on the J.

The second one was the today when the guy I bough my house from showed up to visit some elderly nextdoor neighbors. I had just finished wahing the car (it was 50F in Chicago today). He asks, "Is that a new car?" This is a guy is a car buff himself (Mustangs and Sunbeams) who does a lot of RR& restore or his own rides. There she sat, glowing like a gold nugget in the sun. It's the paint. So deep.

Nice to own an 8 year old car that still gets looks. From cops and car buffs.

PS took the ticket to court and got a much reduced fine. I guess the judge took it easy on me becuase of my immigrant story.

No doubt Vimy! Many J30 owners have experienced this (not saying Q owners haven't) I've heard it here on NICO and I've heard it in person. something about it looks new when it's 10 years old.

A cop was pretty nice to me last Saturday night.... gotta think the freshly washed car helped (and my impeccable behavior).
