Well this weekend, its time to do a timing kit replacement. Looking at the FSM, its starting to look like a LOT more than I originally expected. Are there any "tricks" I should know about before digging in. Anything extra to check while in there. Im also changing motor mounts, water pump, all gaskets, thinking of scrapping clutch fan. Also one question, I just found out why it was so hard to find a oil pan gasket. FSM says use liquid sealer. Is this better, should I return my gasket?

you just use silicone sealer to seal the pan and front cover NO GASKETS!! The most difficult part will be getting the oil pan off. since your doing the motor mounts it will make it a bit easier. use an engine hoist to lift the engine remove your mounts ,leave the engine suspended and undo your oil pan. When you get to the point the oil pan is reinstalled then put your motor mounts back in. Gives ya more room.
