It actually has a lot to do with why I have the car in the first place. Back in early January I was riding my bike home from work (2003 Suzuki SV650S in burning copper metallic ) and hydroplaned and lost control. Those of you who ride will know, you lose traction in one wheel and it will take an act of god to recover safely. Well I wasn't that lucky. I lowsided, separated from the bike and started sliding on the road at about 35MPH, doesn't sound too fast but trust me, it is. I didn't slide far though, there was a late model Honda Passport stopped at a light in front of me. I hit his right rear tire across both thighs, my left leg hyper extended essentially around the wheel. To make a short story long, I severed my Posterior Cruciate Ligament (PCL) which I found out later is pretty uncommon, as well as some pretty severe tears in both my lateral and medial meniscus. The PCL is essentially screwed. There is no surgery that can repair it to 100%, at least not in the foreseeable future; but the rest of my knee, the meniscus tears, are going to be worked on tomorrow. So I'm going to be out of commission for at least 6 weeks, but hopefully the constant pain and grinding in my knee will stop. The bike was thrashed pretty good, and my wife essentially said that it goes or she does. So I picked up an amazing deal on my 240, and have been enjoying it ever since. So if anyone wants to see a really clean and well maintained piggy be completely neglected, check my driveway!

Wish me luck, Fieldy

man that really sucks, i wish for the best for you on your surgery. I always wanted to get a bike but i know too many people who have been in serious accidents. My aunt was in a car accident and had a messed up knee, i know that pain is no joke.

good luck, hopefully you'll be as close to 100% as possible

there is something good always comes from a bad situation even if you don't realize it, with exeption of being pulled over.

probably would have lost some on that deal. i had a GF that i was probably going to marry once. she pulled that s*** on me, car or her. then i woke up one day and realized how much of a crazy/blood sucking/she-devil/wench she was; so i dumped her a**. on a lighter note my 240 is almost done now that i don't waste anymore money on her and her kid

but i know how bad that injury is. tore my acl, mcl, lcl, and ruptured my meniscus back in high school. boy it was like hearing a pack of bubble-wrap going off. PCL injuries are fairly common(when it happens) in soccer though; also called the "dash-board impact" injury. what kind of limitations are they giving you post-op? wheel chairs are pretty fun.

I just want to thank you guys or the kind words and all that. Surgery was this morning and went pretty well. I guess while I was out I stopped breathing or was struggling, so I had a tube down my throat. So I have a sore throat and my knee hurts like hell. Thank god for Percocet.

Hopefully I'll be back behind the wheel soon.
