I decided just a few months ago to abandon the sr20det and look into ka-t options. I wasn't too thrilled, however, with any of the turbo "kits" on the market, especially seeing as how proud most of the companies are of their product ($$$). I was contemplating just throwing one together myself, but I'm a lazy and impatient man. Thus... even though I'm not a fan of the Greddy kit (mostly because of what I've read about the crappy emanage system) I was forced into buying it when I saw it selling for $1500 on ebay. Brand new in the box... what a deal. (I'm an ebay rat) With a few connections, I can get the greddy intercooler KIT for $400, and pretty much any exhaust I want for about $300. Now heres my question....

Should I ditch the greddy emanage? or will it be perfectly fine for now.. keep in mind I'm not planning on running high boost at all (at least not at first) and the car will be mostly a daily driver. I'm looking for safe, fun, HP. Ive heard tuning on the piggyback emanage can suck as opposed to getting something like the s-afc 2. But for the price I couldnt resist any longer.

Entire kit, exhaust, & intercooler for $2300 =

I agree. The SAFC cant be too much better than emanage. If you need to upgrade later, you can sell the emanage and get a tuned ECU or standalone.

how can eight (?) rpm based adjusting points (safc) be better than two 16x16 3D fuel and ignition maps with MAP sensor option (emanage)?

Does it come witht eh hand held jobby to make adjustments? I've never touched the Emanage, I'd love to check it out though.

The SAFCII is extremely easy to use, I didn't even read the directions, course Structure helped me out some in the beginning.

The Emanage can't be much harder.

Nope, gotta have a laptop or buy the Profec controller.I guess you could use the default maps, and never make adjustments...

you could use a desktop pc like craving4boost(i think thats who it was) is doing

yeah, for 16x16 maps you have to either buy the support tool and have a laptop, buy the profec e01 which comes with the map sensor (pretty nice ebc, but kinda flashy), or buy the screen only without the sensor. oh yeah, and you get datalogging, too.

I, and many others use a rrfpr (aka fmu) for fual management on our daily drivers at low boost (8 psi and below)... there is no way that emanage is worse than that, and what i do works just fine for now (until i get all the stuff i need to do rom tunes myself)... so what i'm saying is this: for low boost it will be fine, and i hve heard (but had no formal experience with emanage) that it is great for high boost also. I've seen dyno sheets of people making lots of power with emanage, and reliably. i think you are just fine with what you have as long as it's tuned properly. for that i can't add any advice cause i've never used emanage.
