I finally started piecing together my turbo kit!! It will be a junkyard turbo kit running 5 psi daily(give or take a few) for a while. But it will change once it gets warmer and I can actually stand in my garage and work on it with out getting frost bite.. I just wanna get everything running before spring comes.. Anyways my list so far as is follows a z31 t3, 1g dsm crushed bov, and a supra side mount the major things I still need are a turbo manifold with a z31 t3 flange(it can be a stock one with a flange welded on for all I care because I will switch to a t3/t4 in the spring) and I will trade a pacesetter header for the ka24de for one if anyone has one(remember stock manifold with a flange is good enough) the other thing I need is a downpipe and oil lines. For oil lines couldn't I just tap the oil pan weld a fitting on and run heater hose to the turbo? What diameter should the hose be and at what angle should it be at?? And im gonna hold off on updating the fuel system untill I switch my setup around and run higher boost, im guessing the stock fuel system is good for 5 psi correct?? Fill me in on anything I need ive been researching this for a while but im still a FI noob.

you will need some sort of fuel management no matter what boost level you run, even if you wish to keep the stock injectors. I wouldn't run anything over stock, including an FMU, with a worn out stock fuel pump. I don't know what you mean about using the stock Z31 manifold, you know that it is a six cylinder, right? your car is a 4 cylinder, I don't think there is much hope there.Or are you talking about a stock ka exhaust manifold with a flange welded? this is equally weird since the design of the ka manifold would not allow you to just weld a flange at the end of it...besides welding a cast part isn't a good idea and its difficult to do well.for the oil lines you need both an oil FEED and an oil return. For the oil return you must remove the oil pan, drill and tap it, and then run the hose. I have seen guys use heater hose but I'm using stainless on mine. Its going to my turbos and its going to be down by my manifold and downpipe, that area is hot and stainless has a good safety range around really hot stuff. I've read that you should try and keep the feed/drain lines within 30 degrees of being vertical.

Yeah I was talking about the stock 240 manifold and welding a flange on to it.. My friend has an eg civic coupe with that done to it(temporarily) thats where I got the idea.. What do you think I would need to update in the fuel system to be able to run 5 psi?? I was going to order a set of SR injectors and a walbro fuel pump when I switched to a t3/t4 but what would do for now?? Cuz I dont have much time or $$ because Im still driving my winter car and I was planning on selling it come spring to fianance all this.. But I need to get my 240 running before I can sell it.. And I would like it to be turbo'd running 5 psi before spring that way I can upgrade it from there and not have my car down for too long at a time.. I have access to a z31 parts car and I can take w/e I want off it so is there anything I can take off it to maybe help me out here lol?? Oh and I read somewhere(I think on here) that a t3 out of a z31 requires a different flange then other t3's.. Is this true? Thanks for all the help

I think your best option is patience. There shouldn't be a rush to do this project. It seems like you are still thinking of things you might want to or not do. Besides, I think it will be a hassle to change your setup again in the summer.

Yeah I am rushing but it will be better in the long run.. I dont feel like having to bum a ride for a month in the spring. And I cant afford to miss school or work for that matter.. And what goes on the car now will be tossed later.. Sooner or later everything will be changed but I feel it will be alot easier this way then having to do it all in the spring.. And besides the car is already apart in the garage and I wont be driving/needing to drive it till the mid march.. And I want something I can build off of in the spring.

you are rushing it. if you want to know what you need to go turbo, just look through a few pages of this message forum, read the stickys, use the search key... trust me there is more information on this forum than you could get in any one post.My advice is to chill out, read up, build your parts up, and start your turbo build when you have plenty of time and money to throw at it, because it will eat both of them up pretty fast. There is no point strapping crap on now that will blow your car, especially if you are upgrading later. Just stay NA until you are reading to install the setup you want. Thats what I'm doing and I have no regrets. If you are replacing everything later anyway, I don't understand your comments bout wanting something to build off of...

Also, rushing into things really only sets you further behind. Get the car running in a stock configuration now, then save up AND buy all the parts you need for your turbo kit, make certain it's all ready to go before you tear into your car. Trust me, I've been without my daily driver for 9 months because I got over-eager...it is NOT a pleasant thing.

Yeah rushing things suck, and thinking you will get things done in time is a waste too. I thought I could do my KA-T in 2 days, so I took off work 2 days, by the end of the second day, around 12am we realized we got the wrong injectors with the kit (GReddy Kit), I spent almost of today trying to get the right ones. So now I'm really behind, and have to find a ride to work, and I dont have any whole days off for 3 days.
