Hey everyone,
As I've mentioned in a few past threads, I am joining the Turbo magazine tour to the Tokyo Auto Salon. My plan is to bring video and photo coverage of the event before any magazine does. So over the next couple of weeks, I'm going to prepare for the trip. What I need from you guys are some suggestions for me to keep in mind. What would you like to see? Is there anything in particular you want me to get pictures/video of? etc. So if you have any ideas (within reason..ie. I can't bring back everyone S15s and R34s), let me know.
Also, is anyone here going to the event either with the Turbo tour or on their own? If you are, maybe we could help each other out and bring this community a taste of true JDM (auto)fantasy:D
Moreover, is there anyone here that lives in Japan or knows someone in Japan that I can contact and trust? I would like to have someone that knows how to speak english and japanese to help with translations. Also, I plan on purchasing a few things such as an engine for my S14, some S15 front end pieces for a friend, and some other parts while I'm there so I would also need someone to help me locate the parts and ship them back to this country (japanese language skills definately necassary for that). So if someone can help me with the locating and shipping of parts, I have no problem picking up any hard to get part for people on this forum. But mostly I would like to have someone to show me around Japan when I'm not with the tour group, maybe catch some battles on a local mountain pass or D1 drift event? If someone can help me in this area, they'd be helping the entire community..in a way:) I'm staying an extra two days after the rest of the tour goes back home, so that should give me some time to get the parts and get organized.
I'll probably be walking around wearing shirts or a jacket with my company's logo shamelessly emblazed on it:icesangel and since this is a non profit forum with no real corporate sponsorship, I have no problem wearing the NICO forum logo and/or 240sx.org logo along side my own company logo as I believe this is a great source of information and a community that should get some(more) world wide exposure. Not that I believe I'm doing any favors, I know this forum is and can be just as successful without my help.
I'll post updates as much as I can when I'm there. But for now I'm just getting ready for the event.
Thanks guys,
Joe
