Well, not me, but AJ (CrashGordon) my co-worker & soon to be roommate.

We're going to Ft. Lauderdale Saturday if we can get into the port.

For Sale: 02 BMW 330ci, intake, exhaust, 19" Breytons, etc.

The Skyline is a 21k mile 95, totally stock. If this deal goes through I'll give you guys a heads up on where we all can purchase JDM anything, from parts to whole cars.

(For some relevant Infiniti General info:)

A 2000 President Long went through the auction yesterday for approximately 25k(?)

Methinks I need a President.

Please don't ask me about any parts or cars until I find out more details, I don't wanna stick my yutz out there to get it lopped off if it's not a sure thing.

Excuse me for my ignorance, but to my knowledge the Q is a Japanese Cima, right? So what does the President look like? Is this a class above or below the Q. What are the differences? Pics? Reference sites?

No. It is a totally seperate model. Let me explain.

President is a stretched wheelbase Q45.. Real wood, a ton of other lux items, not present on the Q. TVs, seats that turn into footrests etc..

There was Q45s sold in Japan, like the american models..

There were also short wheelbase Presidents like the G50 Q45 we love. Bear in mind that the President was produced in Japan until 2002. The LHD one that Ryan posted from Yahoo Japan was a mind blower as theoretically none were ever offered or produced.

Yup.

On the auction description, there was a 92 President, a 98 President Long and a 2000 President Long.

It appeared from the pic the regular Pres, (non-long) was like our 1st gen Q's but it was kinda hard to tell about the rear door length by the pics.

We're waiting to hear from the importer about Saturday.

Rob,

I'll give you a shout as soon as I know if we're able to get on the property.

We can pick you up if you have no rental.

Sounds like an Enterprise commercial.

Thanks Heavy...as I am definitely turning in the rental tomorrow morning as the rental bills are killing me while these headers are being made. I went to see my car today as I miss it so. I now have a drop dead date of Thursday next week for the headers to be done. The are all built with the spot welds, but tomorrow they are going to finish off all the welding and then on Monday take them to the coating shop and my car will be ready by Thursday....so they promise....What a pain in the a$$....All I got to say is that when they dyno the damn thing I had better hear about 280+rwhp for it to be worth the wait.

Wellllll.............

That was a big nothing.

AJ tried to get directions & phone numbers from the guy for Saturday morning, but the last time they spoke, AJ said the guy was really tied up. So he may have forgotten to call back.

My children are with me every other weekend, so I can't go now until two weekends from now, that's why I was excited to go yesterday.

Now at least for sure, two weekends from now you'll have your headers & we can kill two Nissans with one trip.

I think Maxnix said they made them until 2002, there was a 2000 that went through for around $24k + shipping & "paperwork".

Lots of cool stuff on those cars, all I *really* care about is the increased rear leg room, all the other stuff is just fluff for the purposes I need it.

I can't find the link that you are referring to on the Japan Yahoo. Do you still have it so I can look at the differences.

One last point of confusion. If Q45 were also sold in Japan, then where does the Cima fit in the total scheme of Japan's Nissan lineup?

instead of the white one he was looking at he decided on this one.

I will keep you informed on how smoothly this transaction goes through. He should have the car in a couple of weeks.

Rob, how much did the headers cost? If, say some time down the road, I would want some (illegal?) headers can I get the same made? Do you like them now? I LIKE more HP!! I like monster headers..

red.....the headers are a nice addition to the car, but they do not come without issues....such as a rotten egg smell for 3 weeks that has now mysteriously gone away for some reason and the EGR is disconnected. The car pulls really nice and strong all the way to redline. I don't get the 4,000 rpm rush like I use to but I don't have the drop off either after 5,000 rpm so my thoughts are is that it flattened out the HP/torque curves to produce an overall higher average HP per rpm from 4,000 to 7,300 rpms.

My cost was way too much $$....well over $2,500 when you consider rental car expenses. I will be traveling extensively in Nov/Dec again and can drop off the car to have them replicated if someone or others have monies in hand to have them replicated.....cost will not be cheap, maybe something like $1,500-$2,000 then you have about $500 installation as they had to unbolt the motor mounts, take out the ac compressor to get the drivers side installed due to the steering shaft being in the way.

The car really moves nicely now and has definetly changed the dynamics of its acceleration rate curve. I will get the car dynoed this fall.

I am undecided on what to do with the car as far as continuing with the mods or to stop the madness....but I do like the way the car accelerates after 60mph very much and at 100+mph it has a new sweet spot with the car just moving really nicely.

That rotten egg smell was most likely related to your AC. That fluid can stink.

As for the headers I really like the "no drop off after 5000 rpm." That drop off irritates me to no end. I have been blessed with a fine running Q, engine wise and would love to top it with some headers, but Yeah, $2000 is alot for a few extra HP. I'll keep looking for new idea headers. Thanks
