Hey guys- I'm headed to Milwaukee for the weekend- what bars, restaurants, or attractions are a must not miss on a Saturday and Sunday?
Please don't say Old Milwaukee beer- I'm an Old Style kinda guy

Though I haven't been there myself, my buddies who used to go to Milwaukee all the time highly recommend "The Safe House".

It's a cold-war espionage theme bar.

That sounds pretty damned interesting. I'll have to do some research on that place today.

EDIT- that sounds awesome! And the reviews are all impressive and ultra positive. Definitely going to make a point to go. With or without the group.

Wisconsin, huh? Uh, pretty sure that state comes down to brats, beer, cheese and overweight people.

Theres some amazing sausage made there too- all of the independent grocers all have their own smokehouses with all kinds of AWESOME preserved meats. Best part is, they'll let you try them on an unlimited basis until you find the right organoleptic characteristics.

I'm sorry, man. I had no idea you were organoleptic. Do you have to wear a helmet?

Speaking of which, you gotta try some gen-u-ine Wisconsin cheese curds while you're there. Plain first, then deep-fried.

They make your teeth squeak.

And they are awesome.

DO NOT LIKE.
I've tried them every which way, but they're just not for me. Calories better spent in beer brewed by the German population.

I do like the the Crudite served at the Supper Clubs though. My mother used to make the dill sourcream/mayo sauce for us growing up and I never realized she learned it there.

Safe house gets a thumbs up. Head a couple blocks North on Water Street and you'll find some great bars. The Trinity Three Irish Pubs is a nice place.

Pabst Mansion is cool.
Pabst Brewery tour is great from what I've heard. Not free like Yuengling.. but might be fun anyhow.

Probably some kind of Oktoberfest stuff going on by this weekend already.

I did not know the password, and I'm pretty glad for that. The experience wouldn't have been the same otherwise. I did get a drink where I got to keep the rocks glass- its pretty sweet and will be my new go-to at home.

Milwaukee was awesome- We started with an amazing meal at Mader's (along with a number of fabulous beers). From there, it was a liquid diet. We hobbled over to the Hofbrau house where I consumed a giant mug of their superb Oktobefest (I wish we got that here!) and talked to some locals. After there, we stumbled to the Safe House where I learned that the password was NOT "boo-boo-kitty-f***-donkeyballs."
The girls face was PRICELESS. She collected herself and then (jokingly with a smile) said "You're lucky I'm of age, or I'd have to call the police for an indecent proposal on a minor." Guess she never saw Jay and Silent Bob.

She then made the 3 of us dance like ballerinas, not once, but TWICE. Probably to check our balance since it was plain to see that we were inebriated already. My performance must have been the best out of the three of us because some dude bought me a beer after we walked into a room full of laughter and cheering.

We finished off the night at Mo's Irish bar with the Fat Tire and watched the Wisconsin Nebraska game. Absurd evening, would love to go back there!

Eat a metric ton of cheese. Then eat some more.

What are "reccomendations"?
