Up garage rocks, there are other chains and independent second hand stores too. Its worth noting there were wheels, like, MOUNTAINS of wheels for ridiculously good prices. The biggest chain is Autobacs, which is like a japanese pep-boys. The premium stores are called Super Autobacs, and these are tons of insane parts inside. Watching JDM Insider has great vids about japan and its car culture but I would like to see many places that are left out such as their junk yards that car dvd's and magazine don't really mention/cover when it comes to finding rare jdm parts. I know 1 or 2 car dvd's that talk about Up Garage a place where they sell tons of used parts. They are a franchise with some small stores and some big as warehouses across japan. I asked a friend of a friend who's stationed in japan and says that japanese people don't shop at Up Garage because no one wants second hand parts. I don't know if that's true but in the video Drift Society vol 1 it talks about it and takes a tour around the place. In the video there's nobody in the store when they were walking around. Seeing pics of your adventure in japan is all I ask and it lets me see what japan as to offer in their car society. Thanks!
Nice pics! Did you get to walk around their junk yards? Another store I read upon from turbo magazine http://www.turbomagazine.com/f....html called crystal auto. I would love to go to japan and bring back some stuff if it wasn't so expensive to ship. I had a buddy who wanted to go to japan, load a sh*t ton of stuff on a cargo and have it shipped. But he said renting one cargo box as big as a train box car was like 15+ g's including all costs to have it loaded and shipped on a boat. I'm thinkin he was all bull but then again if it was cheap everybody would be doing it.Onizuka wrote:
