i am going to go look at a motor and transmission for my car (ka24e)

what should i look out for advice anyone thanks

Is it running, sitting on a pallet, or in pieces? Its always good to pull and check plugs and note color differences. Most importantly though, check the compression both wet and dry.

ooo yea and he rebuilt the motor after 150,000 miles and it is all together

Not really much site unseen. If it not running its hard. If its rebuilt probe him. Was the block bored, crank balanced, bearing clearance changes, ask if he has receipts for the rebuild (parts or labor).

For the trans make sure shed shifting into all gears, look for pinion seal leaks, see how the clutch fork looks.

I dunno its hard, just get as much details as possible. But see if you can check that compression.

You need one of these I thik autozone lends them out.

If the engine is not in the car and not able to be cranked then you need a big a** breaker bar and you need to turn the crank by hand

yea i no that is why i am kinda thinking about it because i dont want to get it and it ending up to be a bad motor and transmission
