Well, I finally get the chance to knock another item off my bucket list.
I've just booked my flight and hotel for next January in Scottsdale, Arizona.
Going to the Barrett-Jackson car auction. Woo woo. I'm so psyched already.
If anyone reading this has been there, I'd love to know what you thought of it.
It looks awesome on TV, so I'm hoping it's everything it's pumped up to be.
Thx. :woot:

We go on Tuesdays. It's not crowded and it's half price. :gapteeth: We're thinking about doing two days next year though. It has grown so much you can't see the whole thing in one day.
DO NOT GO ON FAMILY DAY! Do you have any idea how hard it is to fight back the urge to smack a five year old kid when he runs up and wipes his dirty hands all over a pristine '37 Cadillac? It's REALLY hard. :squint:

Thanks for the replies.
I've booked into Scottsdale for the whole week, so I plan to be there every day.
Also, the hotel I'm staying at said they have a free shuttle to and from Westworld, so I should be able to come and go pretty much as I please.
The wife can shuttle to the shopping centres when she gets bored.
As for buying something, unfortunately, it's not in the plan (this time).
I'm from Canada, so bringing something back would be difficult (and expensive).
That's not to say I don't want to, but it won't happen on this first trip.
My wife and I have also planned to go to Vegas for a few days after the auction before heading home.
Still pumped.

What hotel?

Bex and I will be there, and I think we're gonna stay the night one night so we can have 2 days at the event - let's have lunch.

Been a bunch of times as well. It really is a great event. Very classy and well put together. Since I've been it's increased in size pretty much every year.

+1 on what hotel you're going to be at. Scottsdale is the nicest part of the Phoenix area and there's plenty of stuff to do once you've seen Barrett Jackson.
