So like it say's. I'm going SnowBoarding for the first time today. I'm leaving in about 30 minutes. It was a last-minute kind of thing. Some background:I'm from Florida, and I moved up here about 4 years ago. Got injured at work and had to have shoulder surgery. So I wasn't able to try it. So it's now 4 years later and I'm going to give it a shot. Some people say it's NOTHING like water skiing, or surfing.. Which sucks because I did a lot of that back home.. Anyways, just wanted to throw that out there for you local guys. I'm in Northern Massachusetts. And if anyone wants free tickets, let me know. I'll see what I can do. A couple guys on base volunteer for ski patrol and they will hook me up.

Wish me luck. I may not make it back....

Hi Eric!

You'll have a blast, snowboarding is a lot of fun. The worst part is the following morning, you're body is gonna feel like its been in a mosh pit. Especially if you arn't active during the summer months. Taking a lesson isn't a bad idea for the first couple of times out. I might have to plan a trip up your way and we should get Dan and the guys together for a group run.

Hope to see you down in CT after the snow melts

Mark

Hey, nice to hear from you, Mark.

So yeah, I made it back. Ended up going up one of the big hills. Went to 'Nashoba' or something like that..? Needless to say, I'm sore as all hell. Mostly, my butt is killing me. I was all over the place. It's definitely something you have to get used to.I had a blast. It was fun. I've already taken a few prescription meds to take the edge off. I'm gonna follow up the evening with a few beers and chill.

Just thought about it. If I drink enough, I'll take some pictures of the 'bruised areas'... lol

Snowboarding is the most fun in the winter man, i love it. It takes between a day-a week to get confident enough to really have a great time. Were a helmet man, im telling you its so worth it. Also, helmets keep your head really comfortable and warm if you get the right one.

You catch any edges real hard? Lol i remember learning that lesson, after you do it once it will soo rarely happen again. Remember not being able to take a breath for about a min after the first one hehe.

How was the snow up there? The whole region has been blasted with snow the last month, this is the snowiest season in the last 5-6 years.

when my old roommates taught me, the first thing they ordered me to do was to get as much speed as possible and intentionally eat ****. takes all the fear of falling right out of you. i'm hoping to set up a trip to killington this year, a full day of riding a real mountain, snow bunnies galore, and a full night of partying, doesn't sound too bad at all . lets just hope my wallet agrees with me.

HEY Hanscom Air Force base... 5 minutes from my house in Waltham. I actually have an ID to get on base and use the garage up there for the lifts. Are you living in there?

I just got back from Killington. I was up there for a week and it was amazing. Many stories . We only did two things. Board and party.
