good advice..

also, you should know how to do 180 and 90 degree turns before you learn how to have the car slide out more by pressing the gas.. if your not used to the rear sliding out by itself or e-brake.. your deff arnt ready..

but anyways.. good luck

Dont do drugs!LSD can have long lasting ill affects on the brain. if your lookin to get messed up, a nice stiff drink should suffice.

if you want to drift your car, you should not have went with a oem lsd...

you should get a 2way lsd from either kaaz, nismo (not street version), tomei, etc. if you want to drift the car.

that is true, but for right now a oem vlsd will suit his needs. i drift a j30 and i do quite well with it. A shim job might even be something you(diftnight) might wanna look into.

I use a j30 diff and using this u dont have to change the axles. Thats what u should had done, It would had been so much easier and really there's not an advantage to having a zx diff over a j30. the gear ratio's are almost identical, depending on which model zx ur diff is out of but Sorry i dont have any info on swapping this out. search it up with the search bar and see if u can get a write up about it

Bolt up the diff first, then you'll see which side goes where. (I think the shorter side is the passenger... but then again, its been awhile)

fyi... vlsd sucks for drifting. Its lots of fun in the rain... but on a dry hot day... you'll wish you went welded.

of course bc its a vlsd, but with a nice shim job its not to shabby. my j30 has kicked open only a handful of times when i was drifitng on dry pavement, really i believe if u get a worn out vlsd then its gonna suck but if u get one that hasnt been abused really then it works nice. For a daily driver welded SUCKS i done been down that road

so what's the best LSD someone should go for cause everytime i search, welded lsd's and some say the hlsd off the s15 is the best way to go but im looking for what suits atleast 480hp daily driving some drag maybe drift and idk if this is stupid but im going to build my sr20 to handle high rpms and late shifts so what's the best gearing to and i probaly didn't make sense cause for a i know the hlsd could be welded and not viscous like i heard the z32 & s13 lsd's are.

well if ur short on money and cant afford a real lsd then go with a j30, its direct bolt in on a s14, s13's just swap the back plate and i believe longers bolts at the front, but what i have done is put the 180sx ring and pinion in mine so my gearing is 4:36 .....My car is launch happy on a drap race and when i slide it, It lets the ka really put the torque down. On wet roads i can clutch 5th and spin easily with 15's, 17's i still can but not like the 15's or 16's

No matter what anybody says going with any type of LSD is better than an open diff. Just avoid that Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds stuff, it will make you the wrong kind of drifter.

On a more serious note my factory VLSD doesn't feel too bad at all, its awesome in the rain and during spirited driving but occasionally when the friction difference between the tires is huge it doesn't do well. I'm pretty sure you will love the difference and for $90 you couldn't have bought a better mod.

Lol well i don't pay bills at the age of 16 and bring in 2$ above minimum so saving up for the right lsd isn't a problem what about the kaaz lsd how are those?

LOL... I don't think I've ever heard anyone say that an open diff is better than anything else.

Okay so i saw on a couple websites the tomei lsd are worth $850+ which isn't bad since i want this car to have the best even if money's tight. but they were asking open diff or viscous so i was guessing the best way was this tomei lsd with the maybe z32 rear subframe? or keep it s13 ?
