Going GT2871R, Please Help!

I just order'd my Garrett GT2871R From Enjuku, It doesn't come with an Actuator or bracket, The bracket i can just use from my stock T25? I heard that the stock actuator for the 2871 turbo is crap anyway..? I also don't think using the stock actuator from my Redtop's stock T25 is a good idea either? Should i Get an HKS Actuator? The actuator helps eliminate boost spiking, correct? however It Says "HKS Actuator Kit for Nissan SR20DET. Increases boost from the stock 7psi to 11-12psi" I plan on cranking the boost up to 19lbs,... does that mean the actuator wont really be efficient?

You won't be able to hold 19 psi to redline with the stock actuator. Boost spiking doesn't have anything to shoo with the actuator, its caused by the turbine housing being to small, and exhaust systems that don't have enough back pressure. Usually rule of thumb is a actuator can reliably hold boost that is double the spring rate to red line with a boost controller. I am running the gt3071 with the hks actuator and it won't hold past 23 psi with duty cycle at %100 on my boost controller. To get more out of my system im going external wastegate.

So the spring rate is "11-12 psi" it should hold up to 22-24psi? Am i catching on? I can see your situation not being able to go over 23 but 23 psi max is perfect for me but i prob wount go over 20lbs max, i would go external but i just got a tomei exhaust manny, i thought of getting a flange wended on it but supposedly that will make it more prone to crack... So im just gunna use my tomei till it does crack then go external. & are u twin scroll gt30?

Yes you are catching on. Im on a t2 bottom mount gt3071. I won't tap into the exhaust mani either for that reason. Im going to take my turbine housing down to the machine shop and have them machine the side of it flat and drill and tap the needed holes to except the external wastegate that eery I don't have to worry about the mani cracking.
