it is coming with a transmission for the DOHC

will the DOHC transmission hook up to the SOHC?

and how different are the wiring for the two engines?

will i have to get all new wiring harnesses and ect.?

Um, first. Search. Then if nothing, research. The best answers are the one's you come up with yourself.

Secondly, why would you want to downgrade your motor by going from a DOHC to a SOHC. You do realize the DE has about 15 extra ponies compared to the E, right?

for whatever reason you have decided to go to a SOHC engine in your DOHC-equipped car. okay...

the harness and ECU will need to be swapped for their SOHC counterparts. the tachometer will need to be SOHC too or it will not display correctly.

the transmission and components will mate to the SOHC block just fine.

PS hoses will need to be re-routed if you intend to use it.

there may be a few other things but that is what i can think of off of the top of my head.

note: from your comments it seems like you dont want to swap to SOHC but that is the only motor you can find? you are better off waiting for a DOHC because of the extra effort and cost required to convert the car.

i am at a loss for words. swap a dual for a single. i mean is the kade in that bad of shape. i think id rather fix the one i got before downgrading. plus thats a lot of annoying little details to deal with.

dunno personally I like the sohc over the dohc. not alot of parts out there, but that can be fixed with a bit of work. There's the nissan motorsports parts for the sohc as well. The simplicity is another major plus for the sohc in my book.
