Post

Hi, I'm new to the forums. I have a 91 coupe that I am giving a 6,000$ makeover. First I paid nothing for the car(my uncle was getting rid of it). It is my second 240sx now. It has a 93 motor with 60k miles(freshly installed, pulled it and installed myself). I just ordered a turbo kit, n1 exhaust, test pipe cat, walbro fuel pump, silvia front end conversion, interior carpet, black leather bride seats, bride steering wheel, black dash(old one has a crack), drivers side door panel(old one is ripped), 4x 17" black rims with a polished lip w/ Avon Tech M550 A/S 205/45/r17 tires, jet black paint / white pearl, findanza flywheel & xtd 6 puck stage 3 clutch), UR underdrive pulley, obx helical diff, strut bars, sway bars, and the red and chrome taillights off ebay. I am keeping the body bone stock. I still got the 91 motor that I am going to build up for a more serious turbo app. I have a few things left to order and I need some help from someone that has experience with turbo dohc motors.

First the turbo is aT3T4 T04E TURBO CHARGER 3" inlet Diamenter /2"Outlet 0.58 5 Bolt Standard Hotside 0.63 A/R Cold 0.57 Cimpressor wheel trim 0.60 A/R Compressor 0.63 A/R Turbine 57 Trim Turbine Wheel: Exducer 2.48" / Mayor :2.89" Compressor Wheel : exducer :2.07" / Mayor 2.36" 35mm external wastegate with 7 and 10 psi springs27X25.5X5 INTERCOOLER with 2.5" piping3 inch exhaust with test pipewalbro fuel pumpI am going to order the jwt ecu after I get the injectorsI want to push 7 psi with this turbo on stock internals on a 93 motorWhat injector size should I go with for this setup? Is there anything else anyone would reccomend?Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.P.S. I'll take some pics tommorow and post them on here. I am doing all the work with a friend. The car is a little bit rough right now because I just got it 2 days ago. Give it about 4 weeks though.

First, is this the ebay kit? Many people on here will flame you for it, but I have used it. I may end up with one soon. WD will be calling me a chix name soon.

I would recommend emanage blue, it's cheap, easy to tune, and works well. For only 7psi, I would say that you should use the 370cc injectors with the Greddy tune, then pull back the fuel, advance the timing, and use good gas.

Get an ENTHALPY ecu instead of a JWT.get 440cc injectors so when you want to up the boost your covered and no need to re-tune

If you are going to do that, go to the DW 555's which are less than 50 bux more, that waym if you REALLY want to turn up the boost, you will be at least a little safer.

Cheze is right, you'll probably want to crank up the boost after a while and having the 555cc injectors already there will enable you to do it safely. Just make sure you stay under 10psi with the stock bottom end; anything beyond that might be a little risky.

I don't know, there are tons of people running more than that. What is risky is doing it without the proper tuning equipment, but the same could be said of anything above 0psi.

I'd worry about the internals once you go past 350WHP. But until then...I think you'll be fine.

The worst part about the Stuff you posted is that is a direct copy paste from SSAc or a related EBAY site and the info isn't correct. So you come off looking less then smart.

I'm all done talking crap about SSAC parts, I haven't seen a failure thread in atleast 3 months. Which is far better then the 2-3 a month I used to see. So hopefully the "changes" are actually working. Becareful about the turbo, I've seen ALOT of people smoking them lately. But there are various reason these things could happen, not all of it is the turbo.

Honestly, I've been doing quite a bit of reading on fuel management lately. The BEST bang for your buck is the MS2, thats the newest version of the MegaSquirt system. Its a full standalone and can be bought on EBAY for $350 completely assembled. That my friend is a good friggin deal. The Emanage and SAFCII BTM combos like Cheze and I have don't even come close to touching this type of management. They have a ton of data on the MS2 forums, they have maps to download for free and Base maps for almost every motor made.

If I were to start over, I'd go with MS2.

PS, Merry Christmas Cheze, no name calling today!!!

Ah, I don't mind. Have they not finished MS&S3 yet?

Don't know about that version, I just know I can get the MS2 for 350 on EBAY and it uses the 16bit processor FTW.

Does the MS2 on ebay use MS&S or is it just a fuel controller.

MS&S is the upgrade, it is MegaSquirt and Spark. Does the unit on ebay use the flyback board? It seems like an important feature to have, but I think it was standard on MS2.

Hey, thanks for all the replys. I thought the kit was a pretty good deal for 750$ shipped and it comes with the intercooler kit & turbo kit & downpipe. If I would want to upgrade I can always buy a turbo(but it is a t3t04e turbo and a friend of mine had the same one off ebay and its lasted a year now with no problems) and manifold and it will be good. I am trying to get the most out of the money I am putting in. I deffinatly think I am going with the ms2. I have only heard good things about them.

PICS: I am about to post pics of the car in 10 minutes. Plz remember this is the before pics.

I have heard bad things about either, but the proof is in the pudding, and I have seen the inside of the turbo, you should be fine.

The WG will be your prob. Take it apart and use medium yield locktite blue on all bolts. Aparently, all of the issues people had with them was with **** wiggling loose, so that eventually it caused wicked boost spikes. I am told that is the fix.

MS2 ver. 3.0 on Ebay is the MS&S with 16 bit processor, launch control, multiple spark support, etc. I linked it to WD on AIM the other night.

I'm thinkin' about upgrading to that this spring, which means my tuned ECU with 2-step / flatshift will be up for sale.
