Godspeed Project got their fourth trophy @ Redline time attack!!!

With 90+ degrees heat baking all contestants and attendees on Saturday, it was a hard day for everyone. During this event we came across the most obstacles and problems we have ever ran into. The first thing we came across was our throttle cable. Hanging from the last string we were lucky to be able to catch this problem at a early stage. And with no performance shops or junk yards around we were pretty much almost out of luck. Driving around town trying to locate a autoparts store is not the easiest thing when we were literally in the middle of nowhere. But right before we gave up we knew we had to think like Macgyver and pull a Mickey Mouse job. While traveling back to the track, we came across Karl’s hardware store and there we found gold. A lawn mower cable solved the problem. After the installation, we are now ready to for the next day.

And on Sunday guess what happens…after 3 laps, we lost 5th gear and the transmission gave up. We were pretty much sh*t out of luck. And no way the hardware store or a lawn mower motor or part will fit on the car. We were on the urge of just giving up. But stressing out and running around the track we were super lucky to be able to find transmission from people at All Star Bash. I swear we thought that we hit the lottery that day. Who would of guess someone would have an extra S14 transmission on the track. So with the help of Paul and Alex from Sideway Performance and 2 hours of time left, we made it. Now we are ready to enter the dragon, I mean time attack session…..hahaha Here are the results;

Finally, after all the problems we had, we were able to manage a best lap time of 01:29.583 during our 2nd session. After the end of the day we were able to keep our standing in 2nd place just slightly 00.252 seconds behind ERWearks’s BMW 135 in the RWD street class. We were quite happy with the results, especially with all the problems we had during these 2 days. And now it’s time to take the S14 back to shop and have it re-done all over again so hopefully we won’t have these problems again at the next event.

We would like to give a special Thanks to everyone that help us get our S14 running again!!! We wouldn’t of been able to do this without all of you.

Paul and Alex @ Sideway Performance!!!
Karl's Hardware (Thank god we found you)
Steven Rodgers From SR Motorcars for lending us the Shift boot.
