Since returning from college for the summer, I noticed a serious problem with acceleration in my Q. Whenever I really needed power, the engine would just fall on its face, and the revs would drop. I thought for sure that this was a fuel pump issue. I was ready to order a new one, pull the gas tank, and replace the pump, when I brought the car in to be inspected by my dad's mechanic. I discussed the problem with him, and he said to try the MAF sensor first. I bought a cheapo sensor online (hope it lasts), swapped it in 20 minutes, problem solved. So remember kids, always ask for a second opinion before taking your car apart. I'm sure half the guys on this forum probably could've told me that the airflow sensor was the culprit...
