Well, guys... I'm finally back online again. Formerly S13HatchLuvr, I decided to make a new name since my previous one was no longer befitting...

I am now the proud owner of an '89 S13 Coupe... And I think I have the rarest factory paint scheme, too! It's the two-tone charcoal bottom with silver/green top (does that make sense?)! I hated the color at first but, boy, has it grown on me... It has 99,xxx ORIGIONAL miles (yes, I know the digital speedo goes out and disables the odometer, but he had the original speedo gauge on hand as well), working power everything (including sunroof which, sadly, adds weight and sacrifices a tad bit of structural rigidity), perfect-shifting 5-speed, and is in overall great shape... all for $2000! The guy was willing to go down to $1700, but I didn't want to rip him off THAT bad. Wow, this car looks absolutely bada** with the gunmetal-coated factory alloys that match the charcoal color on the bottom of the car. Can't wait to give it the real JDM treatment as it should have been in the first place! I've never, ever seen a used car's engine bay that was so clean, either. Every other S13 owner in St. Louis that I've talked to thinks I got a steal! Let me know what you think I should do!

P.S. You cannot alter my mind: I'm going black-top S13 SR!

P.S. again: I made this post because I was admiring my car as it was parked next to a ton of more modern, much taller, much thinner family sedans in the Schnuck's parking lot... God, cars are getting tall! The S13s are simply the coolest car availiable for the cash! With some properly executed fender flares, wide Volks, Silvia 2-projector front end, lowered stance, and (don't hate me for this... my brother just put one on his coupe and it is so bada**) an R32 GT-R rear wing, this would be a real purpose-built beauty! Can't wait to spend some cash on my baby!

So, how about some suggestions on parts for my S13? I only want parts that will compliment this car's great handling characteristics, add power to the SR, and give the car a more enjoyable aesthetic appearance from other Nissan guys... I prefer companies like GReddy (Trust), Apex Integration, Brembo, Tein, etc., etc., etc. Help me figure out how to spend all of my hard earned cash!!!

coilovers are the single upgrade that your handling will benefit from the most........Teins are awesome. I am on the HE a rougher ride and designed for more oversteer...which is great....before the Teins i was on Intrax springs and experiencing a lot of understeer.......No More. Honestly it was like driving a different car....a better car. IF you do any sort of road racing, autox, etc.....they are incredible.....of course you basic air filter upgrade is a early on mod........after that.....it's all preference....but coilovers and an air filter would be my first two mods on a stocky.

Any suspension upgrade that compliments this car's handling is just plain awesome. I'm thinking about some hard aftermarket bushings... I'm not concerned about having a harsh ride. When my little brother (imagine that) bought his S13 3 years ago, I didn't even know that they were rear wheel drive! (I've learned more than you can imagine since that sad time in my life) I had never driven a car that was so connected to the road and so predictable (sp?) in its handling... and it was stock! Anyways, I can't wait to dump my cash into this car. I'm prepared for high costs. This car will be a perpetually unfinished project! More suggestions on anything and everything?!?

I would check the timing chain first off, although you probably already know that. Just heard from a friend his timing chain came off : \ I would work on suspension first, myself. I can't wait til I have the problem of deciding what I want to get for my hatch ;)

Lol... Thanks guys! Yeah, the color has really, really grown on me. I realize it will be appreciated by those who know S13s well enough, and that is what I'm aiming for. I don't want to touch the timing chain because this engine's going to be pulled out in just a few months! I can't wait... You know, this car is soooo slow, and my first and only modifications save the exhaust, which is awaiting an SR, have been suspension mods; and my friends just don't understand why! Honestly, I'd rather have an excellent chassis to put a nice engine in before putting a nice engine in a chassis that is destined to be better... You guys are great!

I'll post up some pics of my coupe alongside my brother's this weekend (when my friend with a digital camera comes in town)... although I'm not quite sure how to do this because I've never done so before...

you'll need to upload the images from the camera to your computer then you go to nissaninfiniticlub.net/photopost and click on "upload photos" at the top of the page. then you will need to browse through your computer to find the pics u took and upload them to the site. once thats done you can post them using the picture's web address.

Well, I just ordered the B&M Ripper shifter for my car because it will switch over to the SR transmission and I knew I would never find a better price that $182 shipped. I had that OBX/Arospeed one in my hatch... YUK. Talk about mis-shifts. There was far too much free-play. Anyways, this should be nice once installed. Too bad I won't be doing any "Ripping" through my gears with my unusually slow KA24E... It will be more like "Flick and glide."
