I was bored so i went out and drove around for a while.Well,on my way back this RSX with 2 guys pulls up next to me at a light,we were both going left at the light,we didn't race i think, but i drove off and i was a car lenght away,so then i noticed them speeding up,so i still in first gear speed up too,and i didn't get away but they couldn't catch up to me,by the time i hit fourth they started breaking, and so did i.So next light they're next to me again, and i thought that way it,they didn't look over nothing, just staired straight,so then i start normally, when i notice them accelerate again,by that time they were not far away,my front bumper was where their rear bumper way, anyway so they accelerate and i do too,so they again start pulling away, but so little that someone watching from a distance wouldn't even notice. And then my turn came and i had to go the other way.The good thing is,not only way i not really racing, but i wan't even trying to hard,i think i could've beaten em like nothing if we were on a drag strip, but maybe that's just my imagination.Anyway just wanted to share that with all of you.My car is not stock though,i got an injen intake, hotshot header, and an hks ki-per exhaust.Boy do i love my 240sx.

Damn looking at my post it seems alittle long, but i hope it helps some people get a 240sx,because if you love it it will love you back.:ylsuper :ylsuper

I've never raced an RSX from a stop, but I had fun destroying a couple of Type-S RSX's on the highways :) I swear, those things must govern at like 170km! :rolleyes

i love my 240, but the annoyances of a 10 1/2yr old car and being a poor a** college student do not go hand in hand. we will ride my little pet, we shall ride--as soon as i have $... mwahahaa!

the car still makes me smile profusely

i love my car. there are things about it i don't love, but they will all be taken care of one day. was that RSX a Type-S? if it was it woulda pulled away eventually, especially by 4th gear.

Yup,it was a type-s,and it did start pulling away in late thirg gear already i think like you said but the road wasn't long enough,so we slowed down before he could catch up. :D

I'm willing to put money that my 1992 has less mileage than most S14 owners here.

maybe you do ninja. i got my s13 march of last year with 82k. right now, i got 89,500. mwahaha. but still.... there's a lot of stupid nuisances i got to take care of, i.e. the paint, the driver's side door won't lock, heat shield rattling ( i want a new exhaust dammit!), the door also leaks water when it rains heavy, the engine idles erratically/struggles under acceleration (going to use that seafoam eventually), struts are pretty much shot (but i got sportlines and agx's waiting for install!) and my new speakers need to be installed. but that's about it. i just don't have money/time for all of it :D

car is still fun to drive though

He wasnt racing you. A 240 w/ I/H/E will not hang with a type-s, you may get him off the line, but once he hits about5 grand you are done. How do i know? I own both cars. Dont get me wrong, i like my 240 better (can you guess which car goes in the garage?:D ), the type-s is just my daily driver.

But his car is heavier, and he had another person in it.If you ever drove with anyone in your car you know how it affects your speed.

What year do you have? An rsx weighs about 10 pounds (no b.s.) more than an S13, and quite a bit less than an s14. One persons weight (unless hes one big mofugger) is not going to make a big enough difference.

Then he either had a base (non type-s), or is a really crappy driver, and your a really good driver. average stock s14= 16.1 1/4 mile (i know your not stock, but bear with me)my 1/4 with I/E in rsx type-s=14.94If your ever up in Augusta GA, let me know and we can go up to the dragstrip.:pface

Hey that ain't even far from here, maybe a few hours of drive,i'll let you know if i'm ever there.:ylsuper Like i said the car was faster then mine, but not faster enough to get ahead of me in time.I myself am a fan of the RSX it's one of those cars that i'd like to own if they were RWD.But i'll stick to my 240sx.

Also i don't know if a short shifter helps the 1/4 time much but i have that too.Feels great but not sure how it effects the 1/4 mile time.
