As state in the title , my coil pack melt down about 10 minutes after the car started for the first time with this new setup .

The car was fine before I saw alot of smoke under the hood and then , no power and a burned coilpack ( on the 1 and 6 coil ), but mostly on the number 1 terminal , spark plug side ...

I made this setup because my number 1 coil on the rb20 was melting.

The real question : is there a relation between the number one coil burn with both setup ( stock RB and buick coil retrofit )

The igniter causing coil to burn down ? Is its not related what would cause this to my brand new gm coilpack ??

Please help , I made about 100 kilometers on this car since the last years , there is always something sh*ting on me

this could be a grounding issue, how is it grounded?

I believe the coil itself has to be grounded.

Problem solved , the black with red stripe that I thought was the timing wire is not supposed to be hook up the the 1 and 6 igniter wires...

I just replaced the melted part by buying a single coil from a 4 cylinder buick skylark ( 2.5 liters ) and It work great. No need to replace the entire coil .

I did not the ground the coil and its fine , so I think you dont have to do anything else than mounting it.
