Has anyone converted there coil over plugs to gm coil packs with plug wires. I have searched and would like to do this. I know that I can do this with a standalone that uses this type of ignition but I dont think that is nessasary.

A stock ls1 coil only cost 42 dollars for a brand new one. The parts would be easy to come by being that they are all made in the us. you can use any type of plug wires cut to fit. the coils can be put in a place that they dont see as much heat as the factory cop coils do. And sr stock coils suck and I dont want the split fire ones not because they are not a good product I just always wanted to do this setup.

yes it's been done. Someone on ka-t forum has a write up about it. You might want to search there.

I might do this in the future with the SR.

good luck

I hope that helps..again it's with a standalone ecu but I think it'll work with the SR.

I also saw another post with a gm wasted spark ignition on a CA18. You'll have to search for that one. I don't think I can find it again

good luck

Thanks for finding that for me. In that post it is mentionted that the ste up on the ems is almost the same as a stock sr20 now the dwell is the only problem that I am having. does anyone know what the dwell mapping on the sr is.

I think I have it figured out and I am waiting for my ls1 coils to come in from ebay. I also have a friend of mine making an amplifier for the setup.
