Has anyone found a glue that works for reattaching the left floor footrest to the carpet?

I finally found one in good condition -- now I need to glue it to the carpet.

I have no experience with this, but my first thought would be using a hot glue gun.

Excellent idea as I've never used a hot glue gun to even consider it. Thanks Heath!

The only reason I thought of it, is that the carpet tape that they use to seam carpet in houses is heat activated using these flat iron kind of devices. As best I can tell, the tape has something that looks like hot glue stick material embedded in a mesh. They always use my toilet tank lids as holders/heat sinks so they don't scorch the carpet.

The things you learn flipping houses...
