Haha very cool(I mean 'hot') Fred. I can't wait until the next autox, sorry i didn't come sunday.

Noob question about the Z, does the Track model come with the bigger Brembo brakes? Sounds like an upgrade is due.

Anyone see that movie where the Neon's brakes lit up on fire? He was frantically batting at it with a shirt and doing burnouts to put out the fire. I have to find it again.

and that was with the supercharger's belt off! sheesh! Be careful Fred! I've only autocrossed once at Ripken (have autoxed before at the Glasgow,DE site few years back) and i used my brakes once on the course. But then again, my car was slow. You should probably invest in a fire extinguisher

Yeah even with the SC off, there seeemed always plenty of power. my last run I didnt use my engine bvrake so much cuz my Instructor was urging me to use second more vs first ( tight course).

SO I used the brakes a lot more. but not excessively IMO, it <is> a tight coursde and I always carried a lot ofmspeed into the turns and had top bleed it off.

Also my Instructor must have weighed at <least> 270 lbs.Add to that my own 215 lbs and the car was heavily loaded..

Fred..

Yes for now, I am waiting for driftfactory to get in project Mu brake lines and add them to a set of project Mu brake pads with a barke bleed with Synpower DOT 3/4

In any case unbelievable but true , stock brakes showed no fade under these condtions as I could feel at these speeds.

Always had lots of brakign powr whenever i felt like it, all the way to the end of the course.....

Wow, that's hot. (Someone should slap me for impersonating Paris Hilton.) Maybe you shouldn't be driving with one foot on the accelerator, and the other on the brake. J.K.

Whatever you do (this goes for everybody) don't park with the e-brake engaged after being on the brakes a lot. If you do you'll get the lovely pad imprint on the rear rotors not to mention the surface of the rotors gets messed up. Just park in gear after a hot lap.

sky: i belive the 350's use a parking drum inside the rear rotor hat for that reason.

Years ago my first flight instructor was like 6'4" and 285, when I started my training the first aircraft I flew were the Cessna 152's, a two seat plane that weighs like 1200lbs, that is without any fluids. You can imagine practicing stall recovery with that much moment forward of the CG. I’m only 145lbs, so when I soloed it made the aircraft much more nimble. But it was excellent training operating the plane at the full capacity for weight and balance characteristics.

i figured so much. Still goes for all us lowly s13/s14 owners (and anyone else who doesn't have a drum-style ebrake assembly

WHy arn't the rear rotors red too? Is the 350z highly biased towards the front?

Cool pictures. Check them out on an infrared spectrum some time. Looks "cool" and is useful for analysing how well each part is cooling.

In any car the bias is towards the front, that's really where all the braking is done because that's where the weight is when braking.

they are hot, just not glowing red hot. i think on most cars, at least 80% of the braking comes from the front, not completely sure about that though...

Generally the brakes are setup where the brake distribution is equal to the weight distributing, with a little more up front so the rears dont lock for crappy drivers.....
