ok sounds good what is the benifit of that gauge i have asked around no one anwsersLonismos14 wrote:Speaking from personal use(not he say, she say) they are excellent gauges for what you are trying to do.
But i would also get a wideband. That should be number one on your list for gauges.
i was a lil off on price but its still a good deal i think and the tinted 7 series is the nicest but heres a linkhttp://www.glowshiftdirect.com....aspxpandapants wrote:Where are these "good deals" you speak of?
yeah and the piller too so i guess its not that good of a dealpandapants wrote:Interesting. That's >50$ a gauge.
You have any pics Mr. Lonismos14?
i haved read nothing but good reviews about them so i was a lil un sure of them but i think thats what iam going to go withpandapants wrote:But it is. $150 for 3 gauges and a pod.Plus free shipping.Sounds like a good deal.
I was quoted at 205$ for 2 stri gauges and a pod.Shipped.
I'm ambivalent about glowshift though. So i'll probably pass, end up paying the extra $50 and be happy.
thats not good.....now iam not to sure if i want to get them bc as soon as you posted that i read the same thing some where else.....xX RB Xx wrote:I used them in my RB20 hatch. I had a boost, A/F, and a Oil Pressure gauge. The only that work with a s*** was the boost gauge. Not a good buy. Get something else.
yeah i love the look and with a black car i think the blue would be a nice touchalso i want to put in the leds behind the main gauge clusterT3X_S13 wrote:That's a good deal personally I never used them before but they look awesome
They are s***. DO NOT BUY THEM. Take it someone that has actually used glow shift gauges.T3X_S13 wrote:That's a good deal personally I never used them before but they look awesome
ok that was my first choice i just wanted to save a few bucks but not if i have to replace them later so thanks for the advice it has helped me save money in the long run. i dont like half assed things and that would suck to have to replace stuff that shouldnt break thanksHIGHFIV5 wrote:My buddy got some of these gauges. The A/F Broke within a week, and simply bounces all over the place, and the other gauges were soon to follow. There s***, get Autometer at least if you want cheap gauges, theyre still quality.
i got a friend on this site that says to listen to anything you say mrgreeneyes hes learnd from you so auto meter it ismrgreeneyes wrote:i have not PERSONALLY run them. i learned from locals' mistakes.
they are garbage. buy autometer. good/cost effective. lots of people run them with NO ill effects.
do i need a wideband for just driving. iam not planning of reving it hard and flooring it ever where i go.zenki-S13 wrote:jeez all kinds of threads about gauges the last couple days.any way, i have the same set you are talking about getting.the triple tinted 7 color. with pillar.they are great in my opinion. i dont have any problems with them so far. and they look really nice imo.
but i would get the wideband. i have the narrow and havent had a problem but if i had more money at the time i would have gotten the wideband
If you have a fairly stock engine set up and never plan on pushing your car hard then a wideband isn't necessary. Then again, most of us don't put money into these cars so we can drive them like grandmas.irish enchilada wrote:do i need a wideband for just driving. iam not planning of reving it hard and flooring it ever where i go.

And thats just half of the reviews negative and positive.
Not even going to argue go ahead op blow half of your budget on a name.
Reviews:I used to have these on my old dsm, decent budget gauges. about an equal to an autometer or something. i personally like the defi's i have in the evo though...
I used their boost gauge before on my previous evo, the gauge is pretty accurate. I tested this gauge and then used a freinds autometer and they were the same. (I tested them because i was skeptical at first too).
don't buy those a/f gauges there are a waste of money.
I have had the 7 colored boost gauge on my evo for a year and a half now and I must say that it has been the most accurate gauge i have had so far and was cheap as hell. If you put it on the red it doesnt look cheap at all in fact it matches the interior.
I have their gauges and have ran them side by side with autometer version of the same gauge and they are pretty accurate except the A/F gauge. Their A/F Gauge its not a wideband gauge so i guess its ok but the autometer non-wideband A/F gauge was better with readings when I ran it side by side with the GS A/F Gauge (I think it had to do with the GS A/F Gauge being a Needle A/F gauge and the Autometer A/F Gauge being LED "a needle movement can't keep up with the speed of light ". I have the Tinted 7 Color Series A/F, Oil Pres, Oil Temp, Boost, & EGT. The option these gauges have are pretty sweet though for the price and they are very easy to install & read at night, very bright. I would say though if I bought an evo I would not use these gauges on it because the ranges of the gauges they offer are not in the bracket that you would need for an evo go Autometer or Defi definately.
