glove compartment issue

In the compartment in the glovebox where i believe the dvd drive used to be in the 07 model, there is a metal piece protruding that looks like a bracket that has "CD" stamped on it. Is there a way to remove this piece of metal? I want to fit a computer in there but that thing is going to be an issue. I tried looking through the service manual but cant find anything.

That is for where the navigation used to go on the model right before yours. There *may* be a hard drive back there now on yours, IDK where they put the drive on the new models.

yes that is the space i'm speaking of. no, there is no hd there right now...or at least in the visible space where i want to put the cpu.
