does anyone know if the glove box light stays on all the time, or only when the glove box is opened?I my add a couple of led's over the cup holder that turn on when the headlights are on (at night) and thought the glove box light would be an easy place to get power that turns on with the headlights.JOhn

Glove Box Light?

No Glove Box Light on my 2010 SL HB!

Did they take it out for 2010?

I was wondering the same thing, my 2010 SL sedan has a slot on the inside top of the glove box, put my finger there it seems empty, turn on my headlights, no glovebox light, was it discontinued?

Would not be surprised if it was, they discontinued the cargo cover as standard and the dead pedal rubber pad. It all saves $$$ in building the car.

Wonder if the wiring is still behind the glove box for it. If it was I could probably order the part and probably pretty easy to put it in.

It's weird though that they remove all these items, yet the cost of the car has not gone down in price (at least not here in Ontario).

I noticed the SL model in the showroom last week had no cargo cover. That sucks !

Well, it's all business decisions. The cost of making and selling the car goes up a little bit, so either they raise the price of the car to compensate, or they take off little items that most people would not notice. The glove box light is probably $3 in parts, but multiply that by the number of Versas they make and they save quite a big chunk.

This is also why I think a lot of car companies have gone to beige A-pillars, and roof liners. When the entire upper half of the interior of the car is the same across all trim levels and interior colors, it saves them $$$ because they only need one fabric made, only need one color plastic & mold run for all the cars, etc...

There's my little business lesson. ;-)
