I stuck some bubble wrap inside the latch holes. Let's see if that makes a difference.RED_DET wrote:The latch area is more than likely causing the rattle when it's closed.

While driving on not so smooth road, the glove box makes a rattling sound. If I open the glove box door, no rattle. Close the door, rattle. Any ideas where there could be a contact point causing the shakes?
I checked all the screws and they're tight. It sounds like the rattle is in the latch mechanisms. I tried stuffing the holes with sponges but it made no difference. When the rattle starts and I lift up and hold the glove box latch, it goes away. As soon as I let go it comes back so there could be something funky with the tongues.exit9 wrote:I'll checked the screws to see if they're tight. I only have 6K miles on the car so the filter hasn't been touch yet unless they checked it during pre-delivery and the screws weren't tighten properly. Thanks for the link.
Good idea. This should be covered by the warranty.exit9 wrote:I'll have the dealer look at it.
It worked for about 10K miles before the felt started loosening. They removed and reapplied felt along with some kind if lubricant and it went away again.Aarenella wrote:I had the same problem, but in the winter. Did the felt strips work?
