Glaze

The guy that had my car at the body shop was a really nice guy. He told me that he has a glaze he can put on my car and it will make it repel dust. He said it is really great for black cars. He said it should need it once a year and he is only going to charge me $50 to do it.

Anybody know what he is talking about? I usually don't like other people fooling with my car, but he really liked my car and he is very knowledgeable and has show cars himself.

Our cars have a clearcoat finish and just need a decent wax periodically to keep the finish tip top. If your clearcoat finish is damaged, this is a different story & you may need to address that differently than a good ole wax.

There is a product on the market made by Ardex called Topaz. It is an oil based wax so it does not have a powdered residue when you put it on your car. The paste cost about $25. It is supposed to last about six months and it will make a car shine like no other. I do not believe there is anything you can put on a car that REPELS dust, but it will allow you to wash your car less often. The rain will fall off your car like RainX does on a windshield.
