Will this glass moonroof fit my Q? I always wanted one of these...if this one won't fit, is there one that fits my model year?

Too bad he couldn't focus the second shot of the outside. Not sure how it works (is it only half glass?), but it seems to have the tilt panel.

That auction is as confusing as the possibility of a glass moonroof for a G50.

I have seen these before on a Q, can't remember the model year though. Most moonroofs let you see through them, this one doesn't look like the interior piece slides back into the roof. Does anyone have a moonroof on their Q?

As far as I know, No. No production G50 ever came with one, that I am aware of. One of the few cars in it's price range (if not the only one) that didn't

Some people consider this a feature, I think it screams of cost cutting

I've grown to hate them personally.

I think it's because all I've had leak like me after a few beers...

it'd be a lot of work too, gonna have to get a custom headliner and all that good stuff, the easiest way to do it would be the cheap pop up universal types.

it won't really help with the rigidity of the car either, but we already know all of this don't we.

I say someone give a Q rear suicide doors and a full convertible top:D and big furry ram skin seats.

I don't think that is really glass, but a dark color. I have seen this before, on eBay.

Well....I think it's safe to say, this guy is not getting any action in that auction. That thing looks weird. That aside I've always wondered about three things: The trunk space, the moonroof/lack thereof, and the cup holder issue. I hate to have to open the armrest/console.

I've been trying to upload some pictures of a DIN sized cupholder I installed (damn 56k). It is awesome, I wanted to post them and start a thread about how people have solved cup-holder issues. Mine came out of either a volvo or saab, I can't remember. Thanks for the pictures, you don't need mine anymore

Up here in our igloos we call 'em sunroofs, but I assume we're talking of the same thing... if we're not... my bad!

Anywho my Q45a has a sunroof Ryan. It came with all dealership available options as an aside.

I thought there were quite a few people who had them on these boards?! I was pretty sure Wes did as well as a few others?

Hey Cherry popping Q45,That looks pretty cool man. I'm in the middle of maybe getting a new sound system and that would be a very functional thing to add. Where'd you get those?

D.

Hey miniman, thanks for clearing up the pic.

Corey,

I'm so confused. You are saying you have a glass roof? You can slide yours back???????????

I want it!

Yeah, I have an electric glass roof. Slides back, tilts, all that as best as my memory recalls. I love it and don't know if I could live without it! I'm 90% certain it's not aftermarket... looks factory installed to me. All the electrical switches in the correct place, all the colors match perfectly, etc.

All my windows and sunroof are tinted mighty dark... so the interior doesn't get much light in it, though you'd think the sunroof would help a little.

If you can find a company to do the install for you, find one in a scrap Q. Just make sure it doesn't leak! I'd imagine you'd need the wiring harness and all that too. Custom fab included I'd say you shouldn't pay more than $1000-$1500 or so + parts (cheap from the wreckers). It'd be an awesome mod if you're going for the ultimate dream Q...

Wow, another first. Never heard of a moonroof on a G50.

Seems like it would require a different shade.

I bought the same unit from a 1990 Mercury Sable. I was going to move the climate control unit to the ashtray and mount it there, but the wiring looked like a ridiculous pain so I gave up.Gave the cupholder/coin tray to a friend of mine with a Maxima.

Very slick!

I bet the dealer really padded the sticker with this add on.

I wonder if anyone else with a 94-95 Q45a has a sunroof?

I was just looking back through a bunch of pictures... thought I'd post one up to make sure we're on the same page...

Sunroof is steel (opaque). Moonroof is glass (transparent once the shade is moved).

I'll be calling Vegas tonight and I'll ask them then what it is cause I honestly can't remember. 'Til then, lets assume it's a sunroof. Sorry for getting your hopes up laddies!

By the way the glass moonroof on Ebay ends @11:03:06 AM PDT - Still no bids, it is sitting at $124.00. If the item recieves no bids someone ought to email him and make an offer....just keed in mind it is a 93. moonroof

That cup holder is identical to what was in my 90 Mercury Cougar too so there should be many options out there. Mine was pretty much worthless except for 12oz cans.
