Ok so I read on here everywhere to not get GL-5 gear oil for the 240sx transmission, that it eats the synchros. I know many on here put Redline gear oil in their transmission and the general accepted weight is 75/90 for most gear oils used.
Well...
I've been to 2 shops and none of them carry GL-4. The coveted Redline gear oil lists as exceeding GL-5 requirements. So what gives??
I found 2 brands of gear oil, that listed as meeting or exceeding both GL-4 and GL-5 on the label. Nothing that says just GL-4.
So man up fellas and tell me what you use because I'm not going on a wild goose chase for oil that isn't out there. (this elusive GL-4 only oil)
edit: you guys must be using MT90 from what I can now tell, I was looking at the wrong redline product!
