All you have to do is put an inline switch in one of the wires coming out the ecu. It's a low amperage wire so it's not dangerous to run underneath carpet with a small gauge wire.

Good diagram, but there is a much simpler solution.

The point of a proper kill switch is to remove all power from the system in case of emergency... short, fuel spill, errant ecu behavior, dieseling etc...

That is why the kill is put on the positive leg not the negative.

Ah, so it's a safety kill switch. That makes more sense. I was thinking it was merely an anti-theft device.

In that case, great contribution.

the alternator needs to be interrupted for it to be a safety switch.

all you would have to do is install a battery shut-off switch, i had to install one to race when I relocated my battery to the trunk. Any sort of switch in-line with the battery cables would have to be a heavy-duty high-amp switch tho

...anti-theft switch, well that's a different story

Good points... but

In some cases, the alternator can keep car doing in absence of the battery.

I also prefer a block between battery and alternator even though switches can be high current too.

This is for emergency shut off as stated above.
