Soon i will be finally getting a piant job with a new body setup. Im tired of the tacky fiberglass cracking bomex kit i have. Im going for a more simple look

Ideas:

1. Completely stock "sleeper mode" classic and clean looks funny sometimes

2. Greddy lip with 97-98 240sx oem side skirts

3. Nismo style bumper with 97-98 side skirts

4. Chargespeed front lip with 97-98 side skirts

pros/cons

1. never have to worry about paint again nothing to get damaged, nothin special looks wise

2. can easily be removed with no harm to body and paint, lil more aggressive

3. allows for more airflow for intercooler, could still be removed if damaged

4. Looks a little smoother than greddy to me, costs about $100 more give or take, check out hopupracing.com to find a pic

My vote would be for the chargespeed. Not to wild but pratical too for the cooling benefits.

Go stock.

The chance of having your car vandalized will probably drop.

that's kind of what i'm doing. i'm trying to hook up a pair of 97-98 sideskirts. and i'm considering lips and things.

already got a pair of used mud guards for the rear. gave them a coating of flat black and wow..it made them look BRAND new. i like the mudguards because they remind me of a sort of rear valance or something. i like the stock look, just not the completely bone stock look.

Greddy lip/kouki sides..thats what I want to do. I've heard that lip is fairly brittle, but that Stillen makes a similar lip in a more durable material. The pic on their site is of an s13 though so I have no idea what the s14 zenki lip actually looks like. What color are you going with?

i suggest stock bumper, oem lip, and no skirts at all. reason why i suggest that is because i drive my car at the height it is every day. with a bigger lip than oem, the more chance you have of ****ing it up (not saying youre a bad driver, but **** happens). i scrape my lip quite a bit on things that i can not avoid. i can only imagine what a bigger lip than oem would be like. i guess it all boils down to your actual ride height. when i first bought my car i ordered a greddy lip, but it was on back order and i waited 3 months before i cancelled the order. im very glad i did that. i picked an oem lip up locally for free from a guy that had a greddy lip on his car. he had to repair a few tears in the lip a numerous times due to it being so huge..the reason why i say no skirts is because kouki skirts dont look right at all on zenkis. it totally messes up the flow of the zenki and looks disgusting IMO. .with an oem lip and no sides, you can drop your car on its nuts and look sexy as can be. PLUS, everything will flow with the zenki front which will make for a much complete look of the overall car. oh yeah, with an oem bumper you have to run the oem fogs. too bad you sold me yours! .all in all, its truely about the look youre going for. very classy oem, or not so clean flowing kinda errmmm look. you pick!

I would also go with the OEM front lip, I think it looks much better than the greddy or chargespeed. As for the skirts, I would like having kouki skirts on my zenki, I don't think they screw up anything..

And drop the hood "bonet" man ..

dont worry the bonet is gone with the rest of the kit. the ride hieght isnt much a problem anymore. the coilovers are gone. since i hardly go drifting and never any autox, im more of a drag guy and have switched over to sportlines. i kinda miss the coilovers but i cant get any tracion on the street since they were so stiff. putting donw 340rwhp on the street is tough

i knew i would regret one day selling my stock foglights, lip and mudflaps. i have a deal ont he lip so far

hehe dont regret it man. atleast you know they went to a good home! and even trying to get traction with 250 boosted whp is a challenge. have you tried stickier tires? also, dont regret getting rid of the flaps, they aint that great.

I think the kouki side skirts look good on the zenki. They are curvy and subtle, unlike most aftermarket side skirts that form an unnatural seam with the body. JDM zenki side skirts look horrible IMO...too square and not integrated. And stock zenkis without sideskirts are soo plain...they just look like some cookie cutter japanese car (dare i say camry). Its a dilemma...look plain stock, but hard to put on good aero parts. Zenkis look great if you do them right though. Do you have a wing? I like wingless zenkis

In my opinion, if you take into consideration scraping your stuff on the ground, youre not going to have a clean looking car. Either way, a car imo only looks good when theres not a ton of gap between it and the road. However, I agree, bodykits look pooey... do what you think looks good though man... take suggestions you want, but dont change what YOU LIKE. If you like it wild, go wild. Your money.

Ooops....No I don't think they do...I just saw the Kouki S14 one and I was way impressed and got excited . Sorry about that. On the other hand, Version Select and Origin have some nice body kits. check out http://www.tougefactory.com

Ultra Red and sleeper (stock look) dont go together IMO. If youre not driving this car around a lot, the lip might be worth it. The Chargespeed lip would match the 97-98 sides very well.

I think I remember what the Greddy looks like, but I cant find a pic...

its my daily driver again by the end of this week. or maybe when its done getting painted. a new idea is stock body with IC in front of the bumper support (once i get one)and cut out the front bumper (get a spare bumper cover for this to test). not too sleeper and good air flow. im starting to remind myself how 2 years ago i didnt like lips and now i dont like body kits but do kinda like lips. my tastes change on looks as do most people's. yet stock bodies always look nice to me

stock is gay. and chargespeed is so gross, esp. on zenki. thoes bumpers are going to be way lower than oem sideskirts, its gonna look dumb. and the rear end especially will look dumb since it will be so much higher than the sides. ditch the mudflaps. get a full kit, they make knockoffs of alll the good stuff nowadays, uras, vertex, fk, etc. you will just be dissapointed with anything else. get somthing cleaner than the bomex you have and it will be fine, and ditch that headlight cover thing.

THE EYEMASK IS COMING OFF!!!!!!!!!!1

i really want to stay away from a full kit. stock wont be too gay when im able to beat most cars on the street, runs 11's at the track, and have my big *** intercooler sticking out

Structure240sx: Go with just an OEM front lip, with a slightly modified OEM bumper for intercooler..

With fog lights it looks great. I just don't like the grill but that's a snap to change.

As for stock being gay...I've never seen a single bodykit for an S14 that looked better than stock so..

i need to post some pics of the front of my car. i have exactly what you want anthony. oem bumper cut open in the front, se lip, your fogs!, and i modified the 95 grille by shaving the top and middle pieces going across the grille. also, im running an oem hood bra and it gives it a bit of flava that no other single 240 around here has. check out the member scotty-2-fourty zenki. he has a cardomain page with alot of pics that can give you an idea of what your car will look like, and also for you to drool over.

dont worry i have checked out his car. other than a shinny compressor he doenst have tooo much on me. get some pics of your car. rick sent me one of his with basically the whole front bumper cut out to expose the IC. he says it doesnt look great during the day standing still but at night going past you its badass.
