So im in the midst of an engine build that has been drawn out more than long enough. Last few items I need are a headgasket(getting and Apexi shortly) and a piston/rod combo. Im stumped on what brand I should trust and go with, so I am asking for all of your input.

My power goals are 400whp max, since im running a 2871r .64.

My dilema:

Eagle rods vs. Manley h-beam rods
Cp Pistons vs. Mahle PowerPak pistons

I am hoping to get 87mm and 9.0:1

Let me know what you think would be a better combination

Thanks guys

Ryan

BTW: the motor im taking apart is already built, but destroyed. Was told it had wiseco pistons and eagle rods, which are no longer useable(engine grenaded)

Well I can say on most 4g63's I have built I have ran Manley rods, they are great as far as prices goes and very strong. At one point me and other friends were laying down over 450hp with Manley rod and piston combos. As far as eagle goes in the 4g63 world they have been hit and miss one guy will have them fail at almost stock levels while another guy will have them in a 500hp motor. So because of that I tend to stay away from them.
Sorry this is all 4g63 info but I have spent 10 years building and racing awd dsm's, this is my first 240sx so I have no ka/sr20/ or what ever swap first hand motor info yet.
