So, Eric Holder is Barack Obama's choice for Attorney General. Here are his thoughts concerning G-bay and the "prisoners":

From an interview on CNN, January 2002:

"One of the things we clearly want to do with these prisoners is to have an ability to interrogate them and find out what their future plans might be, where other cells are located; under the Geneva Convention that you are really limited in the amount of information that you can elicit from people.

It seems to me that given the way in which they have conducted themselves, however, that they are not, in fact, people entitled to the protection of the Geneva Convention. They are not prisoners of war. If, for instance, Mohamed Atta had survived the attack on the World Trade Center, would we now be calling him a prisoner of war? I think not. Should Zacarias Moussaoui be called a prisoner of war? Again, I think not."

A few problems with that comparison. 9/11 happened when we wernt at war, so hes right they definitely would not be considered POW's. We currently are at war with terrorism, so the rules of the game have changed. Second, hes basically saying that bad people dont deserve any sort of protection against torture, among other human rights issues.

EDIT - The quote was in 2002.. Still

Way to go B O. Thing is, i know nothing else on this guy other than that one quote. But that quote kinda lets me in on his line of thinking, the same way of thinking that has lead to the last 6 years of morally grey(if not just strait black) decisions and policies.
