If anyone really cared THAT much, they'd knock on your door and write you a check.

Sure, we'd all love to see a pristine example stay pristine. However, steel rusts, paint fades, rubber rots, and wires fray. Enjoy it while you can.
amen to that

Exactly. A car is just a car and you might as well enjoy while your still around with it.

How is extensively modifying ruining it? I dont know about you but the coolness of a convertible still wears off when it doesnt have enough power to get out of its own way, can't take a corner worth a damn, and just isnt fun to drive stock. (Dont take that as an attack on just verts, ALL 240's are pretty tame stock, and they all get boring quick). My brother's car is getting "extensively modified" and will be 100 times better than it was stock.

BTW, including my brothers vert there are 4 in my town, on with silvia front and rb20. AND down in NC last year there was a mint white 240sx in the junkyard, supposedly unpaid parking tickets had landed it there.

Maybe you'll understand someday when there are no clean examples to work with anymore and you have to wait 6 months to 2 years to buy a decent car. Just ask the (real) Canadians on this forum what it's like.

Nevermind. Go ahead and keep drifting it in the rain until you total it; it will just make everyone else's verts worth that much more.

you got a good buy on it from your dad...I was told I stole mine saturday at the car show when I told a guy I bought mine for $8500, I have turned down $15,000 for mine, that will give you maybe just a little incite on what its worth...

it brings back memories from when i first got mine, take care if it there are very few of the low mileage 240's left, please don't hot rod it, take care of that KA24de, its tough as nails and has proven its self time and time over, no need to kill it exp when you have low mileage as you do on it.

you can now choose to do one of 2 things to it...

either modify it, or leave it totally stock... i chose to modify mine to just add a little style to it and my special touch, the trick to doing so with a car with this low of mileage is keeping everything... my car currently has 27,400 miles on it... and what I am saying keep everything as an example I changed out spark plugs and I still have the originals, I went back with NGK but used platinums, I put new breaks on it I still have my old oem pads, changed out tires and rims put the OEM's right back in the boxes the new ones came...

just do it tastefully, and well also your idea of tasteful and everyone elses may be different, my advice just don't rice it out... and what I learned from the forums... don't put flashy chrome rims on it, this forum will hate you

hahaha LMAO, we gave you such a hard time about that, all in good vert-forum criticism though think of it as a type of hazing lol

as with your car Gindu, dude, that thing is sooooo clean its not even funny! Awesome buy and your dad does have some good tase in cars eh? And the reason we are all being so harsh about it is because its probably one one the most mint 240 verts out there. like Eikon said there were 8320 of them made, and out of those 8320 many have been totalled and or chopped up or what have you. So we as vert owners really hold some rare cars. And yea alot of us fix them up, make them projects, do crazy conversions, but usually the ones that do that have the verts that are goin down. but when your vert has such low flippin mileage, you dont want to mess with something like that. My advice to you, leave it stock, keep it garage kept, take it to shows, drive it on weekends. Save up some cash and buy another vert to mess with, then you dont have to worry about un-OEMing an awesome peice of nissan history. with that being said, I hope this forum is useful to the maintenance and long life of your vert and have fun man!

Im torn... Part of me says leave it stock and the other part of me says mod the piss out of it. Id have to say just do the 5spd swap and then slam it with some nice wheels. Do things right though, quality parts and proper installation. Also keep the stock pieces.

Ive seen this car in person and know gindu personally. It's cleaner than the pics let on, but that drivers side power window switch needs to be put back on
