So I'm cruising eBay cause I finally decided to buy some LED bulbs for my tail lights and I figured I'd look at clear front signals too. I cam across some " TARGET="_blank">smoked front signals. These use the same bulb as the rear brake lights, and I'm thinking I might buy an extra pair of brake lights and stick them in the turn signal. So how does smoked turn signals that flash red sound? I'm quite interested. The only problem I can see is that I would need an LED relay to make the blinker flash right, and I am unsure it would fit.

So what do you guys think? Yay or nay?

I'm sure you could make it fit with some modification. You should do it if you want it that way. It's your vert the canvas is yours.

If I were you I would get some quality LEDs. I have bought many LEDs from eBay that were very unsafe...way too dim. But...you can find some high power ones on there that will work fine. I have found that just buying them from a site like http://www.superbrightleds.com is a lot better in the long run, plus they are better quality. As for the LED flasher relay you will need to get one or you can install Load Resistors to each light...which was too much work for me...so I just used a LED flasher relay. Oh yeah...it's a pain to get to...way up under the dash...on top of the steering column above the brake and gas pedals. Good luck. Keep us informed.

There's always that matter of legality...not like the smoked lenses are legal in any way...but to have a red light shown from the front of the vehicle, you'll most likely get bagged from your local police in a heart beat.

I'm not a fan of smoked lenses or red lights.

How about stealth bulbs? I know they are nothing new, but I like their subtleness.

I think I'm going to end up passing on these. I managed to dig up a picture of a red S13 with these installed ( a convertible, no less!) and I just wasn't feeling it. Not to mention I'm always driving with these lights on, so red bulbs or not, it might call attention to me. Looks like I'll probably go for clear signals with silver coated amber bulbs.

Those are nice too but don't use them in your tail lights...the light output isn't that great. My wife told me in the day they were a little hard to see. I had a pair of these:

I've already been using silver coated in the taillights, never had any problems with it.

Cool...maybe it is just my wife being over protective. Cause I thought they looked fine too.
