I don't recall, but I'll check to see if I can find the paperwork. I try to keep everything repair related.Ilya wrote: ↑Sat Jun 30, 2018 6:02 amTone, do you recall how much the work was for? Just curious on ball park so I can have that in my back pocket if/when I go to my dealer.
I had the 'no key' issue about a year ago and if I recall the dealer just gave me two new fobs...nothing about a sensor. When I get back from Europe at the end of next week I'll look at that work order to see if they changed anything.
Thank you sir!

There's definitely a connection. It wasn't long after I had this done that my door open warning light went off. I took it to a different dealer that is closer to where I live. They weren't able to pinpoint the problem, but they suspected that the previous dealer didn't properly program the system. They went ahead and cleared the system and reprogrammed both of my keys. I haven't had a problem since.Ilya wrote: ↑Tue Jul 03, 2018 11:33 pmLooks like they replaced your BCM and only that. Mine was also replaced not that long ago when I had the interior light issue...but maybe it's somehow fubared again? Definitely a variable in the equation.
I'll have to lube and figure out how to test the door switches when I get back. When I pushed the door one in by hand the interior lights went off so not sure how else I can test them without a CONSULT device. Might need to go to Infiniti either way and ask my advisor who I've worked with many times to provide me the results shown on the CONSULT.
So before I took it to the dealer I figured I'd replace the fob batteries as that is much cheaper and it's been about 16hrs now with no alarm. I thought they were relatively new, but who knows.
Well, anyone curious to know but not bothered enough to do the experiment, I got you covered.

I reckon that if Infiniti offers a car that can remotely park, and you go to the office allowing the car to go park itself (available in some cars now), you will leave the office at end of day only to find that your car searched for a space, but gave up and went home without you - because the key fob battery was low.
That was all replaced by the dealer...brand new from factory...I'd be hard pressed to think that it's the BCM again.
Cheap enough and after 14 years, might be worth doing. Will try and report back!VStar650CL wrote: ↑Mon Apr 28, 2025 7:54 pmSince it doesn't happen when the car is unlocked, I have to think the likely culprit is a door switch that's either wet or worn out. The switches aren't expensive, under $25 for OEM and there are clones all over eBay and Amazon for under $10. Part number is 25360-AD000, I'd start by replacing all of them.
