Ok thanks to the "Vicki will you marry me" thread (he's a real post whore for that one), I thought about this topic. I know we've all heard of some extremely ghetto off the wall marriages at some point. Like two Wal-Mart employees hooking up and getting married in the magazine aisle or something like that.

I've whitnessed a marriage along clear water, with nice relaxing chairs, a few umbrellas, and two restrooms outside...right IN THE MIDDLE OF MY OLD APARTMENT COMPLEXES swimming pool area...in East Oakland! The story is that the bride was the apartment manager and had just started the job 3 months earlier. She couldn't take time off, so after being engaged just two weeks prior, they decided to rush the thing and get married while she was working! Oh, and the honeymoon you ask? An overnight stay in San Francisco. Thats right, just 15 minutes across the Bay Bridge.

Any other ghetto weddings, or ghetto places to get married?

This isn't "ghetto" per se, but my friend was telling me about a wedding that he attended recently in early fall. It was one of those really homey, country wedding type deals in NH. The father wed them and was also the musical entertainment. They all sat around a campfire in the middle of the backyard strumming the banjo and telling stories. Haha. It's kinda cool but definitely not your conventional wedding.

NASCAR really is the answer for everything.........

From a ghetto wedding proposal to a ghetto wedding (the in-field), there isn't anything that NASCAR can't do for you!

This dude I know in PA told me back in the day that his hillbilly neighbors got married in their backyard by their barn. And the kicker the man, woman, and priest stood in the back of an old pickup truck while everybody in attendance sat in the grass.

No joke.

Can't get much more 'neck than that.

Damn I was going to say Popeyes just jokingly but Jseda topped the hell out of that. Don't believe you can get more ghetto than White Castle.

November of last year I was in Wash State for work and the guy I was traveling with got to pick the dinner location one night and as we sat in Hooters eating and watching TV, this couple got married. Very impromptu, or soo it seemed, they had a friend perform the nuptials.

I was there, saw it and still can't really believe it happened.

No, from what I could tell neither of them worked there.
