I've been looking around for some info on the GAB, and the thread on this site with the pics of the heavy-duty hanger & such is great. However, this is the only useful page that I have found anywhere. Does anyone know where to find some more info on the GAB?

Also I believe that I read a thread entitled "So I bought a new Nissan, now what" or something like that. Beancooker or MinisterofDoom or Jltibbs or somebody mentioned a shifter upgrade for automatic transmissions (May have been vb upgrade or something like that). What is this, and where can I research it?

It's a VB mod (valve body modification). You will most likely want to go to a transmission shop to have it done. They should charge around $400. for the VB mod and a transmission cooler installed and out the door. I am pretty mechanically inclined, but don't think that I would attemp this one at home.

I'll look around for more info on the GAB, but they will all be about the same. You are pretty much opening up the airbox. You could cut the top part of the box out, on the dirty air side. Then you would still have the clips holding in the air filter, but getting better airflow.

Ehh... One quick question. Can the VB mod be done at "any" transmission shop thats local, or do you have to find a shop thats speciallized in it?

i have doen my reasearch around here in miami, florida down south. You gotta be really careful with which transmission shpp cause from what i have seen in the past only two shops did it that were listed on other maxima orgs and now dont do them because i contacted them for mine. Now as far as shops around your house be caareful who you trust do some research on the vb mod first wha tparts it entails on changing and modifying and stuff like that and when you go tot he transmission shop ask them questions to see if they know what you have read about.
