I rented it today, apparently so excited to play it when i found out that you can't use a normal controller for guitar..or anything for that matter. I'm just one of those select few who feel like playing the game only using the standard controller.

gragh.

In other news, I also rented midnight rice: Los Angeles, I have yet to pop the disc in.

SMOOTH.

I really like how the drums work in Guitar Hero: World Tour. I might even prefer them to the Rock Band drums. I like that they have 5 drums AND the foot pedal.

My big issue with Rock Band AND GH is the difficulty scaling. It's totally wrong. Medium has 4 buttons and hardly any notes. Hard has 5 buttons and tons of notes. Where the crap is the 4 buttons with tons of notes option? I hate that blue fret but I like to play all the notes.

I dislike the more recent Guitar Hero games because they're too shred-happy.

haha yeah, I like playing DDR on PS2 with the controller.arright, so what's the verdict guys? GH:WT or Rock Band 2 (whole band sets)? I've played both and I'm leaning more towards RB2. I like a lot more of the DL'able songs on it. GH wins in the peripheral department, but I hate it how if one person in the band fails, EVERYONE fails.

There's a lot of stuff I like from both song lists (which is a first for both series). They both have a good amount of good classic rock (as opposed to a little okay classic rock in past games). GH:WT has Freak on a Leash! FINALLY some Korn! I wish they'd do Let's Get This Party Started or Falling Away From Me, but Freak is good. It has to be a TON of fun for the Bass player.

Does World Tour work with Rock Band's guitar?

The patch was released a month ago...you can now use GH3 and GH:WT instruments with RB1 and RB2.

I still prefer RB2 over GH:WT...The game is just better. I could care less about the make a crappy 8-bit nintendo sounding song feature.
