Then there is the 1.8L out of the Escort GT's which are kinda rare but it's a direct drop in and go swap.
My daily is a 1.9L Hatch. I rebuilt it back in HS. Only things I did was intake and a highflow cat. It scoots pretty fast for a tiny hatch.Nismo ZJ wrote:Yes it is. And just to add, that car is for sale locally. I kinda don't want it to sell so the guy will part out the turbo parts for me to put on my Miata.
Not sure about the autobox, he said it was toasting the clutch, haha
haha cosworth ftw!!!!MinisterofDOOM wrote:If you have to ask, you're doing it wrong. There is only one right answer to this question:

I'm not planning on drag racing it, just want it to have enough power to get out of it's own way. If you account for age, wear and tear, and every other factor a stock from the factory 1.9L only has 88hp @ 4400 RPM and 108 ft/lbs of torque, so being that it's 14 y/o and everything else I'm probably down to 65 or 70hp and 80-90 ft/lbs of torque and that's probably at the crank, if this was a hatch or coupe with a 5 speed I could probably make do, but it's a wagon with a slushbox.Mr1der wrote:lol...a faster auto Escort?
dude.....
My 1.9L block weighs more than my rb26 block.Chaotic_Warlord wrote:The 2.0L SPI found in the 3rd Gen escorts make stout little engines when turbocharged. If you make a hybrid using the 2L head and the 1.9L bottom they are capable of making big power due to the 1.9L having flat top pistons vs the 2L having dome pistons. Now that I've done some research I may try to get my hands on the 1.8L BP engine from a protege or MX3.
No way, dude... The Ford catalog has plenty of Escort parts.alms24sebring wrote:I thought parts would be impossible to find, motor parts, turbo, accessories, etc.

That would be pretty baller. My first car was a Contour with one of those in it and it was super fun. It could run with a V6 Mustang no problem. I have nothing but love for that engine.Mr1der wrote:or you can try to stuff a 2.5 Duratec V6 in there.

HEADER
SINGULAR, not plural....
It's one piece, it's called a header. Headers is when you have two pieces.alms24sebring wrote:I'm ganna get headers for my car. > I'm ganna get a header for my car.
Lets go back to the pair of pants example. 2 leggings, 1 item4 tubes, 1 item.
... I think that's correct. My Engrish teachers are turning me into a grammar nazi.
