okay i don't know what the deal is with it but, the car dumps gas like a mutha at start up. once it warms up the a/f kinda stabilizes but smokes like crazy! i check the obvious oil/ coolant mix but didn't find anything. does this sound familiar to anyone? oh yeah if i let it idle for a while it will try to die and i see the oil light flicker, very weird. i've only seen it do that 2 or 3 times over 2 week period that this started happenning

white smoke is usually a coolant issue. You might see a little white smoke while the car goes to normal operating temps but after it gets there you should see none. I would check among other things your head gasket or even thermostat to make sure it is opening properly. You could also check your water pump -- could be bad coolant flow through motor.

coolant will deff give off white smoke, but excess fuel will too. and a lot of it. I know from experience.

And since he stated the engine was stumbling and running rich that could be the problem.Check for both, but I've had a problem of running rich/missfiring/ and a lot of white smoke coming from the exhaust and it happened to be a 4th injector oring that was leaking.
