So I have made the decision to go ahead and get my wheels powder coated. I know that I want to get them done in black but thats it. I would like to get some of your guys opinions on some of the options I have. 3 different types of black that I am choosing from, 1) Mirror Black (very reflective) 2) Satn Black (semi reflective) 3) Flat Black (flat)

I was pretty sure I didn't want the flat black until I saw it on a murdered out G35 coupe. But as of now I am leaning towards the mirror black possibly with a polished lip. All opinions are welcome there is a pic of my Zr in my signature with my wheels on it, let me know what you think.

i would def. say flat black, theyre just stock wheels so you wanna make em look more like track wheels, not so flashy...

Well thats the thing my rims do look stock to the common observer. But they are 19" Racing Hart rims that I paid a pretty penny for. I love the look of them but the fact that they are not an exotic design and are just silver people see them and think stock until they realize they are 19's and 10.5" wide in the back.

If you go flat you have to murder out your car, it just looks plain retarded without. I'd vote for mirror sans polished lip....polished lip i so played out.....like totally......lol

I think thats the direction I am leaning in w/o the polished lip. I agree that it is played out, only reason I was considering it was to break up the Black on Black.

mirror, polished lip, end of story. your wheels don't look anything like stock wheels...... I like them.

My vote goes to Satin Black without the lip. Does your wheels have enough depth on the lip part of the wheel? I had a buddy who had his wheels powder coated black with a polished lip, it came out ugly. His wheels did not have enough depth to justify the lip. It looked like it was just painted on.

...Bronze maybe?

The front wheels do have a lip but there is not much depth so I agree with wat you are saying thats why I'm still iffy about the polished lip. The rear wheels would look sick with a polished lip though

There are a couple place that I am considering, one is local in West Chester, PA across from Import Intelligence I am not 100% sure of the name. The other is Bonehead Performance in Warminster, PA I have seen some of the wheels that they have done and they do an excellent job. There is also a place in Newark, DE that does them, one of the guys I work with does a lot of work through them he is going to check on prices for me. So far I have heard anything from $50 to $75 per wheel.

Thats funny cause I was looking at their site earlier today. They have a vendor page on another forum I frequent. It looks like they do a great job but I'm not trying to drive an hour to get them done unless I have to. If I don't like what I see at the shop in West Chester or Warminster I will definately give them a call and tell them you sent me. Thanks for all the help

Have you considered painting your wheels yourself?

Here's a thread about someone painting their own wheels
