Ok, got the dreaded knock sensor code on my 1994 Q45 (271k). Was running like a top until this happened.

So I'm going to have my mechanic:

replace both knock sensors
replace knock sensor harness
replace plenum gasket?
check/replace any injectors needing it
check/replace any hoses needing it

What am I missing?

He's a very experienced guy (professional), albeit on Toyota/Lexus (and now Audi). Tells me that I can expect different ohm readings on warm and cold injectors so he is not so sure about replacing injectors based on cold ohm readings.

Any feedback on this Q45tech? I remember reading your post on keeping a Q going until nearly 400k miles and that is my ambition, so I've been rigorous on the maintenance on this girl.

I noticed the power was down the last few months and put it down to the pistons/rings getting a bit sloppy but now I wonder if it was the timing gradually retarding (?) as the knock sensor went south.

I don't want to go under the plenum ever again so wondering what else might fail under there.
