I was trying to get at the driver's door speaker today but was unsuccessful. Do i need to remove the entire door panel or just the bottom piece. Whatever the answer is how do i do it. I wanna check the wiring going to the speaker, i think something is loose back there. Thanks

What kind of car do you have?

On the Q45, you must remove the entire door panel.

Let me see if I remember how it goes....

You have to slide the armrest backwards and pull up on it. It is held on by "clips".

With the armrest removed, IIRC, 3 screws should be revealed. Remove them.

Pry the window controller away from the panel. Take a flat screwdriver and slide it around the edge of the controller.

Start at the bottom of the panel, between the door panel and the metal door, there are clips placed every so often. I can't remember exactly where they are. I just stuck a flat head screwdriver between the door panel and the metal and slide it around the door, when you reach one of the clips, pry the door panel and the metal apart with the screwdriver. Continue doing this until there are no more clips stuck.

Grab the panel by the bottom, and lift it up. It should slide up. Slide it up and out of the slot between the window and the seal.

When you have it "free", take the Window controller panel and turn it so that it slides through the door panel..

Disconnect the small wire going to the door light.

I think that should do it.

I may have skipped a step.

My car's a '90 Q sorry. I figured the arm rest had something holding it, just wasn't sure how to get it off. I'll try again, probably tomorrow if my son let me.

Thanx for the next step.

When I took off the armrest the first time, It took a good jerk to break it loose.

Glad to be of assistance
