Im getting my block back from the machine shop at the end of this week sometime. Maybe itll be next week. Any way things are pretty much getting together theres just a few things id like some input on.

Im thinking of running nistune. What do you guys running nistune think of it?

Im going to get cp pistons at a 9.0 compression.

But what concerns me most is what I should do bearing wise? I need to rod and main bearings but ive heard quite a bit of bad things about ACL race bearings. Im considering spending the money to try out those F1 black metal bearings. Anyone tried them? Or what works well for you guys bearing wise?
If it makes a difference Alldata mentioned nissan used a coding system for there bearings to be more precise. My crankshaft has two rows of the number 1 stamped across. Yet I cant find the info anywhere to tell me what bearings I need. Any help on my bearing issue would be great.

Yeah, definitely steer clear of the ACL's for your CA18. I'm sure some people have gotten away with it, but why even risk it? All my ACL's spun yet even I'm still skeptical about them just being plain bad, but I wouldn't use them again (for a CA18 at least).

I've only heard good things about Clevite 77's. I'm running some brand I've never heard of (maybe you guys can recognize it?). It's called Accu-something. I just can't remember what the shop that assembled my bottom end called them. So far so good though.

I've used Clevite 77's in my last 2 rebuilds. Honestly, I think the Clevite's saved my crank. When the oil filter failed, all most all of the material embedded into the bearings and left almost no visible damage to the crank. What scoring was on the crank was so minor, you couldn't feel it, and basically came off with a slight polishing of the journal surface

yeah my crank shaft was a straight virgin. There was slight marks that polished right out.
