I have a 2002 3.3L v-6 supercharge that had the distributor taken off and when it was put back on the timing is off. The car cranks but just won't turn over and the distributor needs to be adjusted. How difficult is this to do and what are some tricks to make sure the timing is right.

Are you getting any spark out of your distributor?

They must have miskeyed it upon reinstalling. It is easy to get the clocking of the dist. off a bit and it cannot be adjusted out with manual adjustment. You have to get the #1 piston to top dead center and reinstall the distributor in the proper alignment. On older cars that meant with piston one TDC you have to reinstall dist with the rotor pointing to the number one plug pin. If you are not sure get a real service manual it will explain it properly. The dist has to be in spot on or it will be trouble and not run.
