I made the deal, on Tpuig's 1994 Q45t.

He lives in San Francisco, CA and I in Alabaster, AL. 2,600 mile trip.

The wifey and I are flying out, August 17th and driving it back across country. I havel always wanted to do that. We are taking one week, and stopping in LA, Las Vegas, Santa Fe, Oklahoma City, and possibly Shreveport (If we are tired).

Anybody want to hook-up along the way?

We will be spending one night in San Francisco (hotel), possibly one or two nights in and around LA (2 uncles), one night or two in Las Vegas (casino/hotels are CHEAP!), one night in Santa Fe (hotels are 5 times as expensive as Las Vegas), one night in Oklahoma city (cousin), and maybe one night in Shreveport (no idea where).

Congrats on your new Q. That sounds like a fun trip. Nice to see your wife is on board. My wife thinks my Q is a piece of $hit and she would never go for doing a cross country trip to get an old Q. Take a lot of pictures of your new Q. I'd like to see it.

You're driving right past my house between SF and LA, wouldn't you just know I'm out of town 18-20 Aug.

So if your going to start modding, are you gonna do it to the silver or the green one??? I wanna see you take that silver one to 300k and beyond, so that will be in like 3 months! :D

Hey Jeff,

If you decide to come down from San Francisco on "hwy 1" and then around Morro Bay take hwy 101 you'll be blown away. It's quite a bit longer, but if you have the time......WOW is it ever worth it? It's one of the most beautiful drives on the planet. Especially the part from Monterey, thru Carmel, Big Sur and down to Morro Bay.You can stop and have lunch or dinner overlooking the Pacific ocean and do some whale watching. You'll NEVER forget it.

My house is in the western part of the San Fernando Valley, in LA.So call me up when passing thru and we can hook up.Pm me and I'll give you my #s.It'll be cool to finally meet a NICO member.

D

Thanks for the responses.

I have been away, for a while. I am extremely busy, with the Hyundai plant. It is supposed to start making cars, in May, 2005. The mechanical contractors can't leave soon enough, and are leaving before their jobs are done. The safety team is driving everyone mad. My project manager is off doing his 2 weeks for the Navy, and I am about to kill something!

I have only 7 days, to get the new car back to Alabama. I definitely will be taking highway 1, then 101. I will be going to Sedona, AZ next year, and will spend some time at the Grand Canyon, then. We will fly into Phoenix, and get a car, for the week, just like last time, 5 years ago.

The wife wants to sell the silver Q, but I think I can talk her out of it. Especially, if I trade the I30 in on a G35 coupe. (I am trying to keep my bills to a minimum, so I can re-finance my existing house, and then start building my next home).

I will definitely mod the silver one. I will drive the black one daily, once the silver one gets to 250,000 (July, 2005). Then it will get the 4.08 & level 10 transmission, BRM exhaust, and skyline brakes. Who knows on the supercharger. That is a lot of money.

I might talk the wifey into driving the black one (not green), while building the new house, then leasing a new M45 or G35 for her (2006).

I will definitely like to hook up with some NICO brothers/sisters on the trip. That reminds me, I need to get some NICO stickers, before I leave.

I live right outside Monterey if you want to make a stop here. (I understand if it's too close to your starting point,) but I'd could meet up with you and/or recommend a restaurant or two if you're interested.

If you've never driven down the coast (Hwy 1) it is a must-do. Hopefully it won't be too foggy, but if you're from a hot climate, the cool weather could be a welcome change. It's probably hard to imagine, but you'll need a sweatshirt - it can be very cold and windy in August!

Thanks for the heads-up. 100+ here, it's hard to believe Iwould need a jacket, but definitely will pack one.

I will shoot you guys an email, for your phone numbers, when I get closet to the trip.

I found out, yesterday, that my parents honeymooned in SF, July 1 thru the 4th, in 1961. Dad was in the Navy, and mom was modeling, in LA. Is that cool, or what?
